If brohm doesn't perform well tonight, what do you think the odds are of him being replaced before the beginning of the regular season? So far hes proven to be completely worthless even as a #3

He'd have to be completely hopeless, not just now, but for the forseeable future to get cut. You know, like Rex Grossman.

after 2 years with little to no improvement i'm willing to throw in the towel on him to be honest. its probably too early to say that but damn, i was watching the twitter updates on practice the other day when it went inside and he tossed 5 int's in that practice alone, and that was against the scout team defense.

Brohm faded during his senior season at Louisville anyway. Anyone who expected him to do more than he has, expected way too much to begin with.

Let me know who you think we should sign that is decent QB because that Brohm is garbage

Nobody. I think we can survive with 2. God forbid Aaron gets hurt, he 'had' the poor health rep for awhile, But I think he's sorta shook that reputation of not being able to stay healthy. *Knock on wood*

If he does go down then what? Brohm or Flynn? There has to be a better choice than Brohm

Your getting a little ahead of yourself, Kingdom. Brohm isn't a good QB right now, but he isn't getting cut before the start of his second year.

There is.

It's Flynn.

Brohm is #3, therefore he won't be seeing much, if any, playing time (like most 3rd string QBs).

Flynn is the #2, he's looked good, has upside and is still developing.

I don't think Brohm will be gone this year. Probably a good shot before next year if he doesn't show something between now and them. Just remember that he is #3, so he gets the least amount of reps, which means the least amount of improvement.
The world needs ditch diggers too Danny!!!

Flynn's fine, in the first place - if it had been a reg. season game he would have been in uniform and second on the DC. So we're not looking at going into the Bears game without our number 2 QB.

QBs 1 and 2, we're fine. Brohm's still learning - also fine, because we don't need him to be good at this point. He's in these pre-season games because live bullets are the best teachers, not because they necessarily expect him to succeed. A number 3 QB had almost better NOT be good - if he is, you better trade that mofo for another player you actually need. If, God forbid, we get to a point in the season where we actually need our #3 QB to step in and win a game or multiple games for us - well, that'd never happen because we'd either a) already have picked up a veteran FA, if we'd lost either 1 or 2 in a game, or 2) hopelessly fucked if we somehow lost both in one game. In other words, it's safe to say that Brohm won't see a snap in the regular season.

I do agree that he hasn't looked good - I'm not making light of your concerns or anything, just pointing out that his play isn't a concern for the regular season. He'll get this next game to learn things the hard way, and then he'll get another season and off-season to watch, learn, and try to absorb enough to prepare him to play at pro speed. If he looks this bad next year, he's probably going to have to look somewhere else to play. Or the light could turn on and we'll see what Louisville fans saw - then we can trade him for something good or feel better about having him behind Rogers if needed.

To play along and answer your question, though, I think Thigpen could be an interesting guy to put behind Rodgers - he's raw and he needs development, but he's a hella good athlete and has shown an ability to run a spread-type offense at the pro level. You could conceivably pare down the playbook in a pinch and he could keep the team afloat, and meanwhile you could groom him to improve the other aspects of the game - then, if we're lucky and Rodgers is still on his game, you have a Hass scenario where you can trade him to someone else for something you need, or if we need him he'd be ready. McCarthy's convinced me that he knows QBs, and with Thigpen's athletic skill set, he could be a beast.

There are so many Brohm threads this year it just makes me wonder if other teams have as many fans worried about how good their 3rd string QB is as we do?

beast (23-Jan) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Aaron Glenn Planning To Take Jets HC Job

wpr (22-Jan) : Beast- back to yesterday, I CAN say OSU your have been Michigan IF the odds of making the playoffs were more urgent.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : I've been near death ill last several days, finally feel less dead and site issues.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : It is a big deal. This host is having issues. It's frustrating.
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : just kidding...it was down
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : and there's the dagger
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooo 8 point game with 4 minutes to go!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooooooohhhhhh he missed!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame vs the Luckeyes, bleh
