I consider myself cautiously optimistic.

Not because of the record, but because the O and D starters have dominated.

I am only "cautiously" optimistic, however, because:
1. With exception of WR, LB, and, maybe RB, depth is a real concern.
2. I've watched TT's OLs for too many years to be convinced even by 3 really good performances.
3. I'm worried that, especially on defense, that the performance may be skewed by the Packers clearly throwing "more of their playbook" out there than their opponents. It's one thing to dominate when your opponent isn't doing much gameplanning...it's another to do it when both teams are pulling out all the stops to win for 60 minutes (or, perhaps 40 in the case of the Lions and Bengals).
4. Until roster is set, we won't know what special team coverage and return units will look like.
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Wins and losses in the preseason are completely irrelevant. The quality of the play from the starters is what is most important. We need to get in the groove and get that confidence up for the start of the season. Higher confidence usually results in higher quality as long as doesn't get to the point where it is cockiness. I'm not concerned at all about. I can't wait to see how they start the season.

Does anybody here really think we are going to go 4-0? The starters are going to play a series or two Thursday night. I don't see Brohm taking us to 4-0.

And you wouldn't be "concerned" if we were 0-3..Right?

In the end, I agree it is much better to look prepared and ready to go. More than anything, i am itching for the season start and it easy to get overexcited about a bunch of games that don't count.
It has been a long offseason. I think the packers were out of contention so early last season that it seems like an extra long wait to see these guys play and win.

At first i thought the same thing. I thought, hmmmm,we are clicking too fast and too soon...But then i realized these plays and schemes we are running are basic vanilla plays...Now if our team is dominating like they are with these vanilla plays,i cant even imagine how great it will be this year to be a Packers fan. We arent showing our plays that we would call during the regular season....these plays we are calling are very basic and very expected of us...I think aside from the 1-5-5 formation, this all holds true...We are utilizing our blitzing packages to see if we can reach the QB...Capers knows we have the men to exectute those blitzes, and now when the season comes, he has no limits on his play callings...

Peter King MMQB

Regarding the Packers, their first unit has had 12 possessions this summer and hasn't punted. Sixty-six points in 12 possessions ... just sick. And the starting defense has forced six turnovers in 12 opposing possessions.

"Three games, no punts, 31 points in this game,'' said Aaron Rodgers, who's looking more like Brett Favre than Favre. "The line was great [Friday against Arizona]. I barely got touched. It was just pitch and catch out there.''

What makes Mike McCarthy happy is that a year after L'Affair Favre, Rodgers seems to have the team in his hands. "It's clearly Aaron's team,'' McCarthy said Sunday.

You make a VERY good point - Capers' playbook on D is at least 2.5 inches thick (if you believe what Anthony Smith and other reporters have said). There are 83 defenses to learn, as Nick Barnett has pointed out. No way the Packers have even revealed half of their hand yet.

I'm beginning to think more and more that Capers has been utilizing a lot of base calls that naturally incorporate a blitz in them. If true, this alone is a FAR cry from the defenses of Bob Sanders.

I agree the preseason is not a marker or an advance how the real season will develop, however the intensity they've been playing with is exciting, and the fact that the offense is executing as well rather than stumbling helps, still not overly excited until the first in season game
