For the second week in a row the Jets have been less than inspiring. Not bad, just not good. I still think they can make the playoffs and get us a 2nd round draft pick but they're going to have to play much, much better. Buffalo looks nasty and New England still has the Jets' number. It's going to be tough in the the AFC East for New York. I think we're going to see also that Favre won't be able to put up quite the same numbers with this team; Coles and Cotchery can't touch Driver and Jennings.

I feel bad for him that he went to the Jets now that I watched them. I would of never guessed Mangini was this awful. 3 straight runs from the 3 yard line, are you kidding me? What did they get Favre for

Favre will do just fine with the Jets, I watched his press conference after the loosing game against the Patriots and Favre said, yes, he would have rather won this game, but he said "boy, its still so much fun playing". This is a great thing, sure you want to win the games, but you want to still have fun either way and hes having that. Its just great to see him out on the field knowing he is doing something he loves, win or loose he is still one very awesome QB.

Yes, some of the plays Mangini called were ridiculous, they should have put it in Favre's hands, but again its only the second game of the season lots more games to be played and Favre and the Jets will get better each and every week, the chemistry isnt quite there yet with the recievers, you have to remember Favre with DD they have played forever, some of those throws that Favre was making that their recievers couldnt make, I kept thinking DD would have made that catch.

Yes, Favre had an interception and Favre himself took the blame for that, but let me tell you, he is still the most exciting QB to watch play the game of football. I for one win or loose will enjoy this season and next or for how many more seasons Favre will play.

I thought I would be interested in watching the Jets game but for some reason I'm just not. I am a big Favre fan but in a different uniform I feel indifferent towards his season. I kind of feel guilty because I don't care how his season turns out other than the better he does the better pick we get.

I hope that doesn't offend anyone but it's the way I feel. Maybe it's just that I'm excited about the Packers and there is no room for anything else.
I do wish him well though.

So far the Jets are about as good as they were expected to be. I've seen most of both games, and Favre looks like he hasn't missed a beat. He's still one of the better QB's in the league, which is why Thompson fought tooth and nail to keep him away from the Vikings. I think Favre will have a decent season, and he's a lot better than Pennington was, but the Jets still look like an 8-8 team to me. I do think the season will get less fun for Favre toward the end though, as he will start to wear down.

Right now I think the change of teams has given Favre a burst of energy, as he has to prove himself to a whole new set of fans and teammates.

I agree with your assessment. Favre looked solid, but their O-line lacked consistency. In what turned into more of a defensive game, the Pats showed they still have the better defense. I was a little surprised to see the Jets big money O-line play so poorly.

Here is the thing.. they have a solid defense and an offense that is still gelling... they have to continue learning how to use Favre.. get Coles in the offense and let those hog mollies up front get settled.. they added a few new gents up there. Jones is a solid #1 back.. I think they will be alright and a fringe playoff team.. and if you get in, you have a chance with a QB that can play.. the AFC overall hasn't been real impressive. The Titans? Colts? Bradyless Pats?

The most solid AFC team has been the Steelers.. but Big Ben is solid but I don't think he could carry the team if you shut down the run game.. I expected more out of him coming out of college.. solid not spectacular. Sorry PackinSteel.

Yeah, I was pissed about that. Let Favre have a shot in there. You know he's statistically the best ever at it.

I'm reading your post and seeing the DD's and thinking, we need a DD head.

I hope you're right. I hope it's just time that they need together. It would be exciting to see Favre have one or two more really solid seasons before he calls it quits for good.

I hope I am right to Zoombie, as we all know sometimes it could take years to get chemistry right between players, I just hope the Jets team can come together much quicker. I would sure hope that everytime they play/practice they will only get better. I would love to see Brett have a winning season. But if not then thats okay to, I still get to enjoy seeing him play for another year and hopefully more. 🙂

dfosterf (16-Apr) : that from Jaire
dfosterf (16-Apr) : My guess is the Packers floated the concept of a reworked contract via his agent and agent got a f'
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Yes, and that is why I think Rob worded it how he did. Rather than say "agent"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Same laws apply. Agent must present such an offer to Jaire. Cannot accept or reject without presenting it
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : I'm thinking that is why Rob worded it how he did.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The Packers can certainly still make the offer to the agent
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Laws of agency and definition of fiduciary responsibility
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Jaire is open to a reduced contract without Jaire's permission
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The agent would arguably violate the law if he were to tell the Packers
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : That someone ... likely the agent.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : So, Jaire has not been offered nor rejected a pay reduction, but someone says he'd decline.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovksy says t was direct communication with someone familiar with Jaire’s line of thinking at that moment.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovsky just replied to me a bit ago. Jaire hasn't said it.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Of course, that depends on the definition of "we"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : We have been told that they haven't because he wouldn't accept it. I submit we don't know that
dfosterf (16-Apr) : What is the downside in making a calculated reduced offer to Jaire?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers are receiving interest in Jaire Alexander but a trade is not imminent
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Jalen Ramsey wants to be traded. He's never happy is he?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : two 1sts in 2022 and two 2nd's in 2023 and 2024
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers had fortunate last three drafts.

Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I think a dozen is what I need
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Go fund me for this purpose just might work. A dozen nurses show up at 1265 to provide mental health assistance.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Maybe send a crew of Angels to the Packers draft room on draft day.
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I am the Angel that gets visited.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Visiting Angels has a pretty good reputation
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : what
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : WINNING IT, not someone else losing it. The best victory though was re-uniting with his wife
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : The manner in which he won it was just amazing and wonderful. First blowing the lead then getting back, then blowing it. But ultimately
Zero2Cool (12-Apr) : I'm guessing since the thumb was broken, he wasn't feeling it.
dfosterf (10-Apr) : Looking for guidance. Not feeling the thumb.
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : If they knew about it or not
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : I don't recall that he did which is why I asked.
Zero2Cool (10-Apr) : Guessing they probably knew. Did he have cast or something on?
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : Did they know that at the time or was that something the realized afterwards?
Zero2Cool (9-Apr) : Van Ness played most of season with broken thumb
wpr (9-Apr) : yay
