Best thing for him is is that he'll play OLB in a 3-4. He doesn't need to cover a whole lot (Like Evad stated). A little more than Kampman, yes, but he'll be blitzing and playing the run a lot. At both, he seemed to have improved big time. (Looking at articles, tweets, etc.).
I still don't think that he'll be a lot more than average, which is a real let down, as I thought that Thompson was really beginning to get good. I just hope that he has made leaps in this new scheme or that Matthews/Thompson will take over at ROLB somewhere this season. Although Thompson might be even more of a liability in coverage. Both won't do a whole lot more than shallow zones, I recon, anyway.
