The thing about this pre-season is how important it was for the defense to get off on the right foot. It would really be an uphill battle to gain confidence if there were a lot of missed assignments and the D allowed several big plays.

Add to that the offense looks like it's prepared to step up even beyond what it did last year and will be very difficult to stop. It is easy to see the emphasis on starting out games better and putting points up early is paying off.

The perfect storm would be for the offense to click right out of the gate allowing the defense to attack. With the pressure this group can get on the QB it will be infinately more difficult for an offense to mount the comebacks and late game scores we saw last year.

I know its only preseason but has it changed your mind on how the packers will do this season?

I hope we can lurk in the shadows of the Vikings and Bears hype all year but I don't think how good our team is can be hidden very long. Our offense is scary good right now, but I would like to see how they handle a team that knows how to blitz.

On defense, i worry about injuries along the D-line. I see us as four deep with some work in progress guys. When you are counting on Mike Montgomery for depth, you need to upgrade a little bit. I think we are set at linebacker, but I wish we could upgrade Atari Bigby's position (annual problem).

Obviously punter is a problem and Mason has to prove he can hit the clutch field goal.

Our team looks so good, and we are flying under the radar so much because of all the crap happening within our division. We won't be for long though.

We've been noticed amongst Vikings fans, though. It was a pretty rare sighting. One actually went as far as to say that our offense was better then theirs. Mainly due to chemistry and how balanced our offense is. It was surprising and flattering.

After those two games, I doubt that our starters are still flying under the radar a whole lot. This division is a 3-way battle. We just have the Lions dangling at the bottom of the division somewhere.

This this years team is exaclty like last years team + new rookies + new DC + more experience. Now last years 6-10 could of easilly been a 10-6 instead and a lot of analysts have said it for a while now that last year Packers team didn't look like a 6-10 and are much better. So now that I see that the D is pretty solid and can hold up the opposing team, now that I see that the offense and defense come up fired up in the first quarter I say this team can go 12-4 or 11-5 nothing less then that.

It is still preseason after all. I believe that we can be better than last year as long as the players don't start getting injuries. With the new def that we have going on this year, it would be tough for 2nd stringers to step up to the plate if the 1st stringers were bruised up. Judging how they played the past couple of weeks, it all looks great to me. Rodgers is more comfy in the pocket, making great passes and judgements. Grant seems to be more explosive this year with his cuts and the o-line is making sure Aaron isn't getting a lot of pressure and sacks.

Overall, I think if we keep up with this tempo throughout the season, we will be staring at the SB in the eye again, and hopefully Aaron doesn't choke when that time comes around.

To be honest i try so hard NOT to get excited because of Preseason results due to last year the Lions going 4-0 and then the infamous tankapalooza 0-16, HOWEVER, certain aspects of preseason i have been excited for this season, ESPECIALLY the defense and O-line, the starters have shut out the other teams starters for 2 games straight, although its preseason you know the other team is trying to score regardless, and the O-line is opening up holes for the running game...also i get excited for certain players that play well during the preseason so they can push the starters to perform better as well (a la Bishop, O-line, Chilly)....in short, has preseason changed my mind? yes and no, lol

Here I thought we would get off to a slow start as we established the O-line and worked on the 3-4. My expectations/hopes are VERY high going into the season right now.

If we can stay decently healthy we are already a much better team on D this year. With the addition of Capers we become better yet. We were fortunate in the draft to get 2 players that can contribute immediately. So I expected the D to be much better than last year.

The O was already good and should continue to get better with experience. Hopefully, with a tougher, more productive running game.

We lost 7 games by 4 points or less last year, so even playing with 2nd and 3rd stringers we were not getting blown out. Now, taking all this into consideration, even before preseason, I expected we should challenge for the Division Championship, at least get into the Playoffs, and win a game or two. Beyond that, who knows...

Preseason has done nothing to change my thinking.
