Our team looks so good, and we are flying under the radar so much because of all the crap happening within our division. We won't be for long though.

We've been noticed amongst Vikings fans, though. It was a pretty rare sighting. One actually went as far as to say that our offense was better then theirs. Mainly due to chemistry and how balanced our offense is. It was surprising and flattering.

After those two games, I doubt that our starters are still flying under the radar a whole lot. This division is a 3-way battle. We just have the Lions dangling at the bottom of the division somewhere.

Yes Detlev, (regarding Vikings fan) but he was drinking and it was a rare slip of the tongue on his part. I stirred the pot yet again, so I imagine that he will not be making that same mistake twice. :thumbleft:

I reduced my projection from my usual one. I have been getting burned a little on my predictions lately, mostly, this past decade.

So, in the spirit of improved integrity and realistic expectations, I will reduce it by a full 2 games, however begrudgingly.

14-2 does not suck, so I'm happy with that. :thumbleft:

Of course with my luck this will be the year that we do go undefeated...Man, I will be SO MAD, lol

It hasn't changed for me.

I said awhile back in another thread that Capers has the best defensive backfield has had to work with over any team he has come to.

With the pass rush his packages produce they will be cherry picking out there.

What the forecasters don't or can't predict is the number of players on any given team have that are now ready to contribute more than they had in the past. We have several in guys like Sitton, Bishop, Finley, Jones, Nelson, Barbre, etc., that can elevate the team to a higher level than last year.

You add Arod in there who is a better football player than he was a year ago. These are the dynamics happening within a team that forecasters don't dive into deep enough and why teams "surprise' the experts every year.

They want to focus on the exotic FA acquisitions and the high profile offensive rookies because the audience will listen to that along with being a little lazy in digging into teams and who might just be coming into their own and help make their teams better.

Teams that build from within and bring their young players along are boring to talk about but dang fun to watch when they kick teams butt.

PS. Please don't anybody tell Bishop there is actually an offensive player designated to block him when he rushes the QB, or, that he is not a DB in a LB'rs body when he drops back.

Geez that guy is a good football player. He ought to send McCarthy flowers every week for bringing Capers in here.

Well. Before pre-season I thought :

1) That the transition of 4-3 to a 3-4 would be more slow. (I guess I was wrong)

2) We have a thin depth at some positions and could be a potencial weakness (I guess I was right with the injuries of Collins in game 2 and Peprah )

3) And the that the O line need to stop giving free yards with the penalties (They are working on it)

Ah, man...I could see your head exploding if that actually happened, and this was the season you DIDN'T pick us to go undefeated! :microwave:

+1 just for the mere fact that I hope that doesn't happen to you! :thumbleft:

That said, it might be kinda entertaining though.

On NFL Total Access just now they had a segment about who has looked the best in the preseason. Both guys said the Packers, with one focusing on how good the O has looked and the other (Martz) focusing on how good the D has looked. I'll try to find a vid if they put it up.

I was feeling pretty good about this team before the preseason, but I feel even better now. I'm still not 100% sure about the defense, because they are blitzing a lot, and that can make a defense look better than it is in the preseason, but I'm pretty sure there will be major improvement from last year. What impresses me most so far is the offensive line. I think that's been one of the weak links on this team in the Thompson/McCarthy era, but they look great this year.

So right now I'm thinking 11-5-ish, whereas before the preseason I would've said 10-6-ish. That's only one game better, but I feel much more confident about this team than I did before. Like it's much more than just wishful thinking.

YES.

I was pretty angry about losing #4, but now really am happy with the 2009 Green Bay Packers.

I am much more excited about A. Rodgers than I am about an x-packer.

I really think the Packers will have three 1000 yrd receivers this year. Jennings, DD, and J-Fin.

I was worried about Kampman being in open space and having to cover TE, RB, but I never thought, guess what, a RB, and TE has to block Kampman and keep him from getting at the QB. So far, there is no way a RB or TE can stop Kampman from getting at the QB.

Desmond Bishop may challenge A.J. Hawk for a starting spot if he keeps playing at the level he has been playing at.

Cullen Jenkins looks like he can dominate at DE.

The Packers offensive line has been great at pass protection as well as creating running lanes.

I think we will win the North and make the playoffs with a first round bye.
