Preach it.

We can applaud him when they retire his number, or when he's inducted into Canton. Wearing purple, though? NOT the time for me to show my appreciation for his years here.

I for one hope the people that Boo home at the game don't cheer for him when he goes into Canton. I mean if you want to boo and be part of the new obnoxious Packer fan so be it, just a sad day when people forget what drives the fame of the Packers and that is the history. Makes me wonder how many of you people booed Edgar Bennett when he played for the Bears. Like i said its actions and comments like some on here that makes me embarrassed to call myself a Packer fan.

If he gets booed bigtime i sure hope he turns his nose up and says he will never retire his jersey in Green Bay because those fans don't deserve to see it.

I still truly believe(and I have seen the polls)that the fans in the stadium still have enough class to not boo Brett.

This is frankly an insulting thing for you to say. Do the fans at Lambeau cheer when other teams take the field (I ask because I've never been there)? If not, then why would they cheer for the Vikings when they take the field, regardless of who's leading the team?

The past is just that. Past. Let's stop living in it.

You want to boo him, boo him. You want to cheer him, cheer him. I will not be there. I will probably be right here behind this screen, watching the game and chatting.

I'll tell you where I would like to be, though. I would like to be bellied up to a bar, packed with all of the folks I got to know so well during the past year... so very well. I'd invite "The GM" of Packerchatters.com as the guest of honor, as he always looked at Brett objectively as a player for the Green Bay Packers. He took (and still does) so much shit from so many noisy idiots, with nary a reaction. I would invite the rest of my friends from over there that came to the realization that Ted made a very tough but correct decision, and defended that decision in the teeth of the vitriolic hatred of Ted Thompson and that decision, coupled with their illogical idoltry.

I would want the reasonable people from this board as well at that bar, because they, like me, never hated Brett, but got accused of it anyway, because they had the courage of conviction to stand up to those that lashed out whenever a version other than Lord Favres's was either argued or agreed with.

Brett was never Bambi, and he will not be when he hits that field. So Skol to my brethren that showed the mettle to stand with Ted Thompson and his mettle... These are not the type of people generally that are going to boo Brett now, or hit anyone with a bunch of "I told you so's". They will sit there and cheer the Pack as they always have...maybe a few more high-fives than usual...nothing to do with Brett, everything to do with enduring one big load of year-long bullshit.

It would be nice if we could get one of the crotch-sniffers to buy the bar as a semi- apology, or at least a semi-acknowledgement, but I will not hold my breath for that one.

I can't believe any Packer fan actually supporting Brett Favre.

All right last year I just let it go probably one of the big reasons being he went to the Jets instead of the Vikings but this year come on. I mean this guy just announced he was staying retired a week or so ago and now his going to play first game tonight.

Now how can he actually chose the Vikings ... rivals to the Packers. This is not acceptable. I couldn't care less if he has won us a SB, just imagine NFC championship and his the one that knocks off to help win the Vikings. How would you guys feel then?

I officially hate Brett Favre. I hope Rodgers lights it up against them this year.

Remaining Favre fans how do you guys still remain a Favre fan ... I mean think of it this way. Assuming your married ... and your wife leave's you for your rival. I'm sure most of you would hate your wife and for those who won't they've got something wrong in there head.

Favre betrayed and disgraced all the Packers fans / history / franchise etc... and that's just simply the ugly truth.

Admit it or not that is the truth now do you accept it or not that's up to you.

No. It's your take on things. Look, there isn't a player in any sport who had a comparable level of admiration from me than Brett Favre. Being a Packer fan was, for me (and others in my generation -- I'm 22), synonymous with watching Favre work his magic.

Consequentially, these last few years have been very difficult. But -- and this is THE prohibitive BUT -- nothing will change the sixteen years in Green Bay.

Right now it sucks. It's lousy. Favre's persona has changed so much through this two-year circus. And I've said a few times it will be stomach churning to watch him in purple. But when it's all said and done, he's a Packer.

I think I'm most upset about what a joke he's become. I don't mean that figuratively -- I mean literally, he's become a joke. People who don't even watch football are aware of his flip-flopping and indecision.
William Henderson didn't have to run people over. His preferred method was levitation.
