Green Bay -- The Green Bay Packers and nose tackle B.J. Raji agreed upon a deal that appears about commensurate with what the going rate was for players selected around the ninth selection.
It's possible No. 10 pick Michael Crabtree will sign for more with the San Francisco 49ers, but the Raji deal should stand by itself and be palatable for both sides.
Raji's five-year deal is worth $28.5 million, according to an NFL source familiar with the numbers. The guaranteed portion of the contract is worth just under $18 million.
The No. 9 pick last year, Cincinnati linebacker Keith Rivers, signed a five-year deal worth $20.1 million and included around $15.7 in guarantees. Raji's total deal represents a 40% increase in total value, and an increase of about 15% guarantees.
