Being a Southern Miss alum, I followed #4 to the Pack. I was a Favre fan, not a Pack fan. That pretty much changed the day before SB XXXI.
I pulled into a Stuckeys in Gallman, MS (near my house) to gas up and noticed that the lot was absolutely packed with Packers fans. You couldn't turn around without bumping into half a dozen cheeseheads.
Anyway, I welcomed them to MS and struck up a bit of Packer chat. I asked them how they'd scored SB tickets and one guy said, "Hell, none of us have tickets. We just want to be in town for the game." The though of thousands of fans driving from friggin' Wisconsin just to be NEAR the game did it for me. I've been a true Pack fan ever since.
Planning on going back to Lambeau for the Cincy game...will be in Chicago that weekend and can't stand to be that close and not take in a game. Hopefully it'll work out so I can make it.
