I first watched the packers the day Brett Favre had a shoot out with Payton Manning in Indy, the Pack lost, but i was hooked on the Packers from then on because after the research i did, i feel in love with the packers "family" and spirit.

I was ten. Sitting in my room bored. Flipped on this old black and white TV held together by duct tape. Click click click.

A football game. I saw one play. The last play of the game.

Narrated here by Jim Irwin and Max Mcgee. Old school radio announcers.

Nerd you are the man tonight.
This is my wife's all time favorite play. We watched that game.
We were frustrated by the failures in the game. Packers defense was stout but the offense was inept. I had to look up the details. Bears only 268 total yards. Payton a paltry 65 yards rushing. GB total 214 yards. Dickey was 10-22 for 138 yards. He was sacked 4 times.

Marco is going to make a sure FG.
No he doesn't
Wait he has the ball. 2 Bears defenders fall right at his feet.
Somehow he is able to run around the left end. Unbelievable. I would have been happy with a first down. Instead he scored the TD. It was perfect. We were both screaming.

Anyway, this has been a difficult week for her after her last chemo treament on Friday. She giggled and said, "Thank you."

It was 1965. I was 8 years old. My Dad and 15 year old brother were watching the Packers on TV. It just kind of happened that suddenly I fell in love with the Packers. (I lived in Milwaukee at the time) My Dad worked at a printing company, and I asked him for a BIG scrapbook. He brought one home and I proceeded to clip out everything I could find on the Packers in the Milwaukee Journal. I spent the next two years filling up 2 scrapbooks on the Packers. Which ended up being the first two Superbowl seasons!
Now, I just turned 66 a couple weeks ago, and I still have them!
Now when I go shopping, I will open up a bottle of Elmer's Glue, take a deep sniff, and it brings those memories flooding back like they were yesterday.
I can't even consider being a fan of any other team.  Win or lose, they are "MY" team.
