In a game, only 47 of the 53 players on a roster can suit up for GameDay. It doesn't matter what position they're listed under. In the past, we've only activated two QB's because honestly--was Brett Favre gonna get injured? Even if he did, we'd never get to a third guy.
I understand that the signing of Vick would require us to drop one of our young players who have a lot of upside. But there are players all over the National Football League who are young and have tons of upside. But we can't be so focused on development with there's so much talent that's within reach.
You guys may think that guys like Charlie Peprah or Tony Moll provide the team with a foundation of young up-and-coming talent, but you need more than that to be successful in this league. You need players who already have talent.
Sure, Vick's been out a couple years, but it's the same with Garrison Hearst and Ricky Williams. They had long layoffs, but they still produced in their comebacks.
