The Philadelphia Eagles have announced former defensive coordinator Jim Johnson has passed away at the age of 68 after a battle with cancer. KFFL sends its condolences to his family and friends.

Its a shame because he was a defensive guru.
Now he can set up the defense upstairs for the all head coach.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

Holy... I knew he was battling cancer and that he wasn't with the team, but I didn't think it was in this serious a state.

This is truly a shame, he was amazing. Rip.

One of the finest defensive minds in the past couple decades and overall a classy man.. when players hold respect this highly for a coach long after they have left the team, it speaks volumes.

Rest in peace Jim.. my prayers will be spoken for your family.

I always liked his style of defense. Come come and come some more. Very sad and big loss to the world and to the NFL.

This was surprising when I first heard it. He was one of my favorite DC's in the NFL. I was hoping the Packers would steal him from the Eagles, haha.

Anyway, he will definitely be missed. R.I.P.

Scary to think that a "mere" melanoma can result in death. My condolences to his family.

IMO, he should be a hall of famer even though he was just a DC. The Hall of Fame should eb judged by the impact one individual has on the game and the NFL. Johnson fits that category.

I'm gonna miss watching his defenses. RIP
