Lindy was the first coach I can remember seeing on the Packers sidelines.

Sad to hear. As with Zero, he was my first memory of the Packers and the excitement of the 1989 season.

Infante was a really good coordinator, but a mediocre at best head coach. Still love him to death for that '89 season giving a lot of us young fans something to cheer about given how badly the team had stunk the previous few years and finally beating the Bears for the first time in 5 years. The Instant Replay game always sticks out in my mind.

Still makes me wonder how well the team might have done in the playoffs that year.

Minnesota won the division via tiebreaker after being Cincinnati on the final MNF game of the season since the Bengals had nothing to play for and then the Vikings subsequently went to SF and got a mud hole stomped into them by the eventual Super Bowl champs when the Packers were the only team to have beat SF at home that year, which next to the Instant Replay game was probably my favorite memory from '89. May not have beat SF a second time, but I think they had a team that would have given them a much better game.

For me Infante was post Lombardi and pre-Favre. He represents, for me, that low period when the Packers struggled to win. He did his best with the players he was given. May he rest in peace and be kindly remembered by the Packer Nation.

My thoughts are similar to Smokey's except I would not be so charitable to Infante. In keeping with the idea of "don't speak ill of the dead", I will just say I didn't like him and let it go at that.

dfosterf (2h) : If Jerry traded Micah to GB, here in northern Va. they would have to quick build yet another data center to handle the internet hate traffic

Zero2Cool (2h) : If you hear rumors about Packers sign or trade, won't happen. Not how they work
