How do you or i know what the wrs will do this year? Did anyone hear of Antonio Freeman, Robert Brooks, Donald Driver before they had their chances to play.

I just don't think they should ever say negative about another team. It really took me by surprise to hear it from Driver, he is usually quiet. It struck me wrong is all, but then again he might be upset that "HIS GUY" will be quarterbacking the Vikes this year 😛
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

What was he SUPPOSED to say???
"The Bears have a GREAT receiveing corp, and will dominate this year".???

He was probably asked a question and because he's a laid back, genuine sort of guy, gave an honest answer.

I would say he was pretty generous, they have an ageing and creaking D and the OLine is mediocre.

The Bears receiving corps have enough bulletin board material to fill their locker room from every NFL media outlet in the land. Driver's measured comments aren't going to whip them into a frenzy.

If what driver said about the bears is talking shit ... I wonder what guys just saying the bears suck $%^ $%^&; what this would be called.

It would be just like saying the pack had a good O last year especially thier passing game; but their rush defense and QB rushing needs some work. Like ya ...

Since others have already said what I would've said about the Driver comment, I have to ask: What other comments about other teams have Packer players made recently that you consider to be unwise?

I really can't think of any. I don't remember any "We're gonna kick (insert team name) their butts!"

Although I do not agree that this is trash talk....

Hazer has a point. One hell of a point.

There are a hell of a lot of people who read P.F.T. I am sure all of the Bears W.R. do, and Jay Cutler is going to use this in the huddle I am sure in both games against the Packers.

Donald Driver issues thumbs down on Bears' wideouts

Posted by Aaron Wilson on July 16, 2009 9:45 PM ET

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Donald Driver knows what an effective receiving corps is supposed to look like: dangerous, consistent and productive.

In a blunt comment that's certain to become bulletin-board material in the Chicago Bears' locker room, Driver gave a candid assessment of the Bears' receivers during an interview with NFL Sirius Radio, per Bob Wolfley of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.

"I think Chicago did a great job, and Lovie Smith went out there and got Jay Cutler to lead this team, but one thing they don't have is they don't have the receiver group," Driver said. "They have the running back, they have the offensive line and they have a great defense.

"But you're going to have to need receivers to make plays down the field, and they don't have that right now."

After careful reflection on this... I originally disagreed with Hazers post... But he is right.

It may not be trash talk, and perhaps the thread title was not correct.

However it is bulletin board material and motivation the Bears Not Need Have twice this year.

Hazer has a valid point.

I do not believe in bulletin material. If you need something like this to get you more motivated, especially playing a division rival, you shouldn't be playing in the NFL. Bulletin board material is used more in the media than it is in the locker room.

Yeah, where would they want to put this anyway, the 9th bulletin board? That's how much they'll need if are actually going to fall back on all those reports on a bad receiving core.

Of course, if they make it, it will be 'due to being the underdog' and this will be a great story. They will talk about coming out of nowhere, being motivated by this material, someone will make a witty comment about not being who they though they where and it will go down as a win for motivational gurus. Even though it had nothing to do with any of this stuff, but just of unexpected good rookie play and Hester's hands not being made of bricks anymore.

If not, and this is most likely, everyone will say that the Bears should've picked up a Torry Holt or a Marvin Harrison and Driver's comment will be forgotten.

beast (8h) : Also why do both NYC teams have absolutely horrible OL for over a decade?
beast (8h) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (18h) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (18h) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (20h) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
Zero2Cool (21h) : Aaron Glenn Planning To Take Jets HC Job
dfosterf (22h) : Martha- C'est mon boulot! 😁
Zero2Cool (22h) : Thank you
wpr (22h) : Z, glad you are feeling better.
wpr (22h) : My son and D-I-L work for UM. It's a way to pick on them.
Zero2Cool (22h) : Thank you. I rarely get sick, and even more rarely sick to the point I can't work.
wpr (22h) : Beast- back to yesterday, I CAN say OSU your have been Michigan IF the odds of making the playoffs were more urgent.
dfosterf (22h) : Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better.
Zero2Cool (23h) : I've been near death ill last several days, finally feel less dead and site issues.
Zero2Cool (23h) : It is a big deal. This host is having issues. It's frustrating.
Martha Careful (23h) : just kidding...it was down
Martha Careful (23h) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (23h) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : and there's the dagger
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooo 8 point game with 4 minutes to go!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooooooohhhhhh he missed!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame vs the Luckeyes, bleh
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Oh snap!!!
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Even Stevie Wonder can see that.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Nah, you see Lions OC leaving to be HC of Bears is directly related to Packers.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ohhhhhhh Zero is in TROUBLE
packerfanoutwest (21-Jan) : Zero, per your orders, check Bearshome, not packershome
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Then he'll land with another team and flourish.
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Ben going to Bears. He'll be out in 3 years.
Mucky Tundra (20-Jan) : what's so funny?
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
