im looking to see feedback on how you rate the effectiveness and talent of our players on both sides of the ball.

Defense.

1. Charles Woodson - not much needs to be said here. defending DPOY. Hes ok... i guess.

2. Nick Collins - I dont think hes as good as his numbers suggest but he still seems to be in the right place in the right time and takes advantage of the opportunities with hit Ints.

3. Clay Matthews - Rookie standout, great player, great rushing skills, average to above average in coverage for a linebacker. All i can see him going is up.

4. Cullen Jenkins - Overlooked player this year. He always seemed to be in the backfield or making pressure. Especially in the beginning part of the year.

5. Ryan Pickett - I did not like the extension.. solely for the part that his backup is making just as much as him. Its a HEAFTY contract for a player i dont see getting much better only declining. good character guy and good locker room presence.

6. Nick Barnett - I felt that he got better and better throughout the year. sure he wasnt his 2007 self but he will get there. his knee looked mighty ood late in the season. He might rise on this list for next year.

7. Johnny Jolly - sheez... i do not like him that much. im sorry i know he fit in well last season but i do not like his attitude nor how his legal troubles... wtf is with the sizzurp? ur not friggen Lil Wayne. Grow up. I wanted to put him lower just because of his penalty against the Vikes Chester Taylor. Totally unnecassary.

8. Al Harris - this is a tossup. not sure how he will come back after his surgery and he is very old at 35.

9. Brad Jones - not sure if he is longtime replacement but i did like what i saw from him last year. good at shedding blocks and played the run well.

10. Tramon Williams - i do not trust him against a strong number 2 receiver.. yet. I do like him though. In a few more years he will be a very strong player.

11. Brandon Chillar - not sure about the signing. will be a good investment if he either starts or we use the Okie package more often.

12. Atari Bigby - id like to see him bounce back. i really liked him two years ago. plays tough but thats not everything at this level.

13. Desmond Bishop - good player just looking for oppurtunity.

Offense
1. Aaron Rodgers - seems to be getting better with every passing game. played on a whole nother level in the playoff game against arizona.

2. Greg Jennings - hes gregulous. He needs to learn how to beat double teams a little better to be the true number one standout we all know he can be. great game against arizona.

3. Jermichael Finley - he played on another level in the postseason as well. I think he will be the best tight end in Green and Gold history. that is if he completes almost all of his career here.

4. Donald Driver - 6 straight 1000 yard seasons. he needs 950 yards for 10,000 in his career. green and gold through and through.

5. Josh Sitton - our best lineman last season. hopefully he picks it up even more.

6. Ryan Grant - most people might be surprised that he is so low considering the impact he has on our offense but i feel like we block well for him and he doesn't break enough tackles. Hopefully he builds on his second half surge.

7. Scott Wells - played consistent this season. Very durable. does what he's asked. lost starting job with no sour words. worked his way back in due to good play and injuries.

8. Mark Tauscher - something with him sparked better line play from everyone last season i like the resigning.

9. Chad Clifton - he and tausch are basically the same player to me. same age, same skill level, same contract, just he gets hurt much more often.

10. Daryn Colledge - very confusing to me. he played well in 08, but awful in 09. most people would put him lower but i have faith.. could be a false hope actually. bounceback year would be very nice.

11. John Kuhn - solid fullback, better special teams player

12. Jason Spitz - probably should be higher on the list.

13. Quinn Johnson - i would like to see him get much more involved next season. good attitude, future is lookin good for him.

On defense, only those two guys, Harris and Woodson, have a large impact on the effectiveness of the rest of the squad.

For offense, maybe Driver for leadership and guts that can impact the others on offense. Jermichael Finley seems dangerous enough, with other WRs on the roster, that eventually he will become an impact player for whom other teams must plan.

I do not rate A-Rod as an impact QB. He is good but for a QB, the impact criterion is different.

I like all the players on the list, though.

Numbers don't lie. He's in the right place at the right time for a reason. 13 INTs in 2 years, leading the NFL in INT return yardage and INT TDs in '08 then following it up with 6 more INTs in '09.

Let's not forget the importance of INTs. Remember and INT returned for a TD sealed the game for the latest SB winner.

By the way, Ryan Grant is quickly becoming one of my favorite RBs. He quietly gets a lot of yards. Don't need to be fancy. Just produce. He has produced, and when he goes down, the football is still in his hands. I like that.

well this year he was good, but when we went 6-10 i badly wanted B.jack as the starter, i guess it was partly on the o-line too tho.

dfosterf (25-Jun) : of the folks that run this team. I do not recall Mark Murphy being subject to our vote.
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Ed Policy yay or nay is on the pre-approved ballot that we always approve because we are uninformed and lazy, along with all the rest
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Weird question. Very esoteric. For stockholders. Also lengthy. Sorry. Offseason.
