Last season, he established career highs in receptions (80) and receiving yards (1,292) to go along with nine touchdowns.

Those are the facts so we don't get jumped on for not backing up our statements but look at those and the way the nfl is today those aren't superstar stats they are average stats. Wrs are going over 100 receptions and 1500 yards and double digit tds.

But he got what he deserved by being classy about the contract i think. But c'mon now would you pay 13 million to a little above average wr? Thats Fitz, Bolden, and Johnson money.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

For someone that seems able to pull all the stats square out of your ass, you can't count worth a shit.

I believe you have given Jennings a raise in every single post you have put up today.

Rodgers base pay for 2009 is still 680,000.00 btw.

It's all relative buddy. You pay for the best talent you have in house. Unfortunately, not every team has a Larry Fitzgerald, Randy Moss, or Calvin Johnson.

This was a fair deal for both sides and if Jennings continues to play at the level he has been then it will be more then worth it. The only way I see his production dropping significantly is if he or Rodger's gets a significant injury.

Good signing! Way to set the example that you will be rewarded for proving your worth and acting mature about it Ted!

This should make you happy then Dave :p

Packers star WR Greg Jennings has agreed to terms on his new deal with the team.

Jennings, who was due to make the veteran minimum in 2009, the final year of his rookie contract, has agreed to a new deal that will run through the 2012 season, according to a league source. He will earn a maximum of $31 million in the deal, should he reach the $5 million in incentives.

Jennings will earn about $16 million in 2009, between his signing bonus and base salary.

see went up again hes up to 16 million lol

I don't get it...........TT haters were pissing and moaning that Ted Thompson was too much of a tightwad.........TT haters were pissing and maoning that he wouldn't get Jennings signed...........it's obvious there is NO pleasing some.
We get Jennings signed, pay him well, and somehow thats turned around into a negative?
I don't get it.

Wait......yeas i do! Haters will hate Ted Thompson no matter WHAT he does. We now have proof of that.
Lets see what would ave happened if he had'nt got this done. What would have happened?
"TT's a TIGHTWAD! He refused to pay our best WR the money he deserves!!!! It's ALL because Ted Thompson refuses to pay anyone!!!"

Now he gets it done, and "He overpayed! He only signed Jennings cause he's one of HIS guys!"

I like what MassPackerFan said in the other thread: If Ted Thompson has a style, he's covering his tracks well. I think Ted Thompson would make a fabulous poker player. He would play a mean tight-aggressive game and he would clean out the wallets of a lot of fish.

Don't get me wrong cheesey i'm glad they paid Jennings, I'm happy for the guy.
But don't it seem fishy that Ted Thompson wouldn't spend money when the devil was here and wouldn't trade up in the draft and now the devil is gone he does what is totally opposite to his nature.

I think Jennings was overpaid stats wise but i believe he got rewarded for keeping his mouth shut and just doing what he agreed to when he signed the first contract, and for that he gets a huge thumbs up from me.

Little note for cheesey, I bought the Wii today with Wii fit so maybe we can hook up online and play sometime 🙂
