As a vegetarian who likes football, I can understand any person or organization continuing to have some iffy judgment calls, but Peta picks their battles in poor fashion as a way of life.

This is another reason why I put my support and faith behind the Humane Society and ASPCA and NOT Peta.

Yeah, wearing pleather only contributes to the hegemony of the oil industry, whereas those animals wouldn't exist were it not for the leather and meat industries. (Same reason why environmentalists who protest the use of trees for paper are so inane -- those trees wouldn't exist were it not for the paper industry. The U.S. has more trees than ever thanks to the paper industry.)
