I'm Catholic so I don't think being gay is right. I think that Marriage is not a right but a sacrament. This sacrament shows a Man and a Woman joined together under God. Now gay people can do whatever they want, if "legally joining together under the judicial system" is a "right" then fine, let them do that. But leave Marriage between a man and a woman.

Oh and, no one has the right to end life because they don't want it. It's not like adoption doesn't exist....

On the lighter side of life, take just a moment to contemplate this posting over at P.P.O. The thread in question posts pictures of Brett Favre in less than a flattering light. This "quote" is exactly as it appears on their site:

The irony escapes the 8000 members.

That's fine with me. Churches should not be forced in any way to honor/conduct ceremonies for gay marriages.

I think the smart thing would be for the Christian faith to seek sole and complete ownership of the word "marriage". Nobody else can use it or adopt it. Then they might have a leg to stand on, when they try to control what happens outside of their churches, in the legal system.

Green - I'm not touching the a-word with a ten foot pole.

However, I will say my piece about gay marriage. If your church doesn't like it, more power to them. The State has NO right to force a church to do something it doesn't want to do.

But some churches are for it. If gays want to get married, they will simply have to find a church that condones it, as it is today. And I think the state should recognize those marriages, for it comes simply down to Freedom of Religion.

seeing we are into religion all of a sudden know what pisses me off? Why is it we don't say the pledge of alligence any more in the schools? Oh thats right it has god in it my bad. Just like our money don't have in god we trust anymore either. So i guess we better not say God Bless America anymore.

I had some gay friends and had no problem with them, we would go golfing and when we were down i would say want to go have a beer and they would say no thanks im off to suck some d**k and i would be like ok have fun see ya later .
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

Then you go to why are people gay, is it learned behavior or are people born like that. Well for that answer I look to nature and the other creatures of the earth and I believe that because there are gay animals, then there has to be gay people as well. So then why would the creator make gay people and animals only to abolish it. That's pretty messed up.

And Cheesey, I love my wife, and hardly ever have sex with her, so yeah it works for heterosexuals too.

Good topic everyone.

First, thank you for your thoughful comments!

Secondly, I don't believe God makes "gay" animals of any kind. He didn't make them to be that way. In fact, He made everything perfect.
It's SIN that caused all the bad things to happen, not God. DEATH wasn't supposed to happen either, yet everything dies now. Once mankind sinned, the world no longer was what God wanted it to be. So at that point everything changed. God doesn't take joy in bad things happening, like the illnesses we have to endure. But it wasn't HIS fault that man sinned and ruined it all.

And Longtimefan.........no, what i am doing is NOT "forcing" my befiefs on ANYONE. I am saying WHAT i believe, and showing the Biblical reasons WHY i believe it.. If someone chooses to NOT believe what i do, thats 100% THEIR choice, right?
How is stating what i believe and why "forcing" ANYTHING on anyone? Do i bring it up in every thread? No, i don't. This thread went that direction, and i said what i believe and why. Should i NOT share what i believe? Why not? Everyone else here have stated what they believe. Should i not say what i think because i am a Christian? Or because i believe the Bible is God's word? You don't HAVE to believe it if you don't want to. I'm not forcing you, or anyone to believe what i quoted in this thread. You have just as much of a "free will" as everyone else.

The only reson i responded with more posts on it was because people were questioning why i believed it, or getting mad. I wanted there to be no doubt as to WHY i believe as i do. I am not trying to force anyone to believe as i do.
But as i stated, i really believe it. If you really believe something that you feel will impact people you care about for all eternity, do you REALLY believe it if you don't take the chance that people will hate you, by sharing it with them?
If i saw a truck coming down the street that you didn't see, and i could see it was going to hit you, do you think it would be better to keep my mouth shut, or to yell "LT! LOOK OUT!!!"???
Did i REALLY believe the truck was going to hit my friend if i didn't even warn him?
I can yell "LOOK OUT!" But in the end, it's up to the individual if they get out of the way or not. And if you choose not to believe what i said, who knows, maybe i am wrong and the truck wasn't going to hit you anyways, right?
