Sodomy: : anal or oral copulation with a member of the same or opposite sex ; also : copulation with an animal

Hunh. Well allright then. Still too broad for my liking, with that "oral" bit thrown in.

Yeah, that's the modern legal definition in some jurisdictions, but it's not a biblical definition.

Well, Nonstop.

I do not find women in the act repulsive at all. It is not something I would enjoy watching, but it does not turn my stomach.

Unless, of course.... One of them has saggy hooters, a certified-Marine-High and Tight hair cut, a tattoo that says "Dad" on her bicep, and she is spitting chewing tobacco in a cup while doing oral copulation.

That would be repulsive.

well,.....Sodom and Gomorrah were judged by God, and destroyed for a reason.
So we think we can point our collective finger's in God's face and say "We want to do what we want to do!"???
Judgement will come. Thats guarenteed. Otherwise God will have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah i guess.
To try to turn around what the Bible says to make us feel better about our favorite sins is not right.
God says there will be judgement for those that change the meanings in the Bible.
I choose to believe what HE says on the subject. If people don't like it, well, thats not going to make me change what i believe. I'd rather make people hate me then God judge me.
I do NOT mistreat gay people. I hate the sin, not the sinner.
God made men and women different for a REASON, didn't he?
Every day you make choices. Just as gay people can choose to NOT have sexual relations with members of the same sex, right?
I have seen in this thread where "love" has been put in the place of "sex". Well, if they want to "love" each other, i guess thats ok. But God says they shouldn't have sex with each other. Thats HIS word, not mine.

i believe "just" being a good person who believes in God should grant you access to His kingdom...but maybe that's just me.

i don't believe for one second that a person sits around & one day decides "poof, i've decided i'm gonna be gay because now my life is gonna be great - i'll be ostracized by the majority, ridiculed by most, & spat on in public - woo hoo - i'm so glad i made that decision."

really people - come ON!!

now i'm gettin all fired up...walking away. :D

Please don't get mad at me. All i was doing was stating what the Bible says on it. If you believe the Bible is inspired by God, then you will see that HE has written very specific things about salvation and how to recieve it for FREE. All it's "costs" a person is to accept it. Again, pretty easy if you ask me.
The Bible says "all our righteous deeds are like a filthy garment" (Isaiah 64:6) in other words, at our BEST we can not EARN salvation. It can be only recieved as a gift from God.
The WAGES of sin are death. ALL sin, right? And a WAGE is earned. Salvation is a GIFT from God, it can't be earned, no matter how "good" you are.
Again, thats only if you believe what the Bible says. If you don't, then what i am saying will seem stupid.
I myself find it hard to understand WHY people would NOT take the step of faith and accept. I mean, what does it cost you? And if i am wrong, what will you lose? If i am wrong, you will just cease to exist, and you won't care if what i said was right or wrong. But if a am right, and you reject it, then what happens?
Again, i am NOT saying this to upset anyone. Just saying that i believe what the Bible says, and thus, i want it for every one of my friends here.
If that makes me a bad person, for wanting EVERYONE here to spend eternity in Heaven, well, i guess i'll be a bad person then.
Salvation is so simple.......yet so many reject it. It's very sad to me.
Yet so many will jump to defend "alternate life styles", or "abortion rights". But people get mad at me for trying to share my faith, so that they can feel the security i feel. I don't get it.

First of all RP you should probably say something like this: I could not see myself having sex with a man.

Cheesey and Nonstop have both made compelling arguments quoting scripture and interpretation of the scripture. I'm very impressed with you both for that. Thank you!

It's funny, but I come from a very conservative upbringing and culture, yet I'm very liberal in my thinking on this subject, because I believe this group of people have been wronged in America. I don't necessarily agree with how they live but I understand their rights have been and are still being violated.

Then you go to why are people gay, is it learned behavior or are people born like that. Well for that answer I look to nature and the other creatures of the earth and I believe that because there are gay animals, then there has to be gay people as well. So then why would the creator make gay people and animals only to abolish it. That's pretty messed up.

And Cheesey, I love my wife, and hardly ever have sex with her, so yeah it works for heterosexuals too.

Good topic everyone.
