Nor would I. One thing I did notice though, is that he missed a lot of tackles. And that was in a highlight vid. I hope he'll improve or that or that it was just an unlucky montage.

missed tackles are killers, but if we're being honest, his job is eating blockers, not making tackles. Of course he will have to make tackles. I'm just saying his most important is to clog the middle.

Luckely it is. That's one of the reasons I think that he was on the board as more of a 3-4 DT than a 4-3 one.

The moment he's pushing back a guard and a center while the RB is trying to run into that gap, I'd like him to get him down. Maybe I'm just expecting too much from him, though.

expecting a football player to tackle another football player... yeah, that's expecting way too much. :thumbright:

Hehe. I was aiming at tackling in space and while already pushing back two O-linemen.

I can imagine that a 330 pound guy is might not get an AP down in space or that he gets loose from his blockers to tackle a RB.

Hopefully he make Harrell obsolete. Or at least inspires Harrell to do something.

I'm less worried about the 3-4 with Raji.

Well I noticed in some highlight videos Raji missed a few tackles as well. But he doesn't absolutely get run by, he hits the RB and knocks him back about 5 yards and then one of his linebackers always finish him off. So really it is better for him to do that because he makes the RB lose more yards haha.

I'm not worried about him missing tackles, I don't think anyone will get by him when they come into a collision.

And is a NT really expected to make open field tackles?

Raji and Harrell are both training hard this offseason. They both are eating up all the buffets around town. And you should see them fight for the last rack of ribs lol

He don't NEED to make no friggin' open field tackle, anymore than AL Harris needs a spleen.

I don't remember if it was you that posted the video, gopack, but someone did.

Raji was penetrating, but was being blocked on the outside. The running back was in the backfield, getting ready to make his downfield cut. Raji was out of the play...no way is he getting to that running back.

Raji went to plan B.

He THREW---yes THREW--- the offensive lineman at the running back, one-armed (think Reggie-White-like-here) causing the offensive lineman to tackle the running back for him.

Lazy shit. LOL

Edit-- I found another one where he used the o lineman:

That right there is what I enjoy about being 350+ pounds. The surprising things that we can do on the football field. And thanks to people llike Dhazer who say stupid things about us, we have extra ammunition to take out on people like him on the field. Just ask the football couch who made fun of me in middle school...3 cracked ribs later he wasn't saying much.
