Alan - You have mentioned many times the physical rehab that you are going through.
What about your mind?

There are many reasons for degradation of mental abilities, among them are age, stress, diet, etc.

Its important to challenge, stimulate and effectively exercise our minds to stay mentally sharp as our brains age.

Our minds consist of five main cognitive functions:
memory
attention
language
visual-spatial skills
executive function

Perhaps you might look into some mental exercises. Try some new things to challenge your mind.

I know that several years ago, I was noticing that my thought processes were not as sharp as they used to be. So now I do some exercises for the mind, and I have noticed an improvement.
(Alright, no smart ass comments from the rest of you cheeseheads on that one!)

Alan, use your computer and do some research. Also check with your physician.

As to the voodoo doll that David mentioned, I'm working on that one.............I'm gonna turn cheesey into a Vikings fan!
That will boost his cognitive level by a factor of 10 at least! ::razz:
Bwaaahaaaa!

Sweet! That will make me a 7!!! :thumbleft:

I have been reading up on it already. According to what i read, this happens to alot of heart patients. Some get better after several months.
Hopefully mine will improve.

I have been getting "zinging" pains on both sides of my chest. NASTY things. The nurses tell me it's the nerves becoming active again, after the trauma.

Either that, or Vikesrule has a Cheesey voodoo doll.

Cheese,

Don't let it get to you. We don't mind spelling errors. It is no big deal. My brother has a Japanese friend. The man would spend an hour correcting his spelling and grammar before sending the letter to my brother. (That was before all the spell check programs came out.) When my brother learned how hard his friend was working to get his letters correct, he told his friend not to do that.
We are just glad to see you posting. The typing is not important.

As for me I copy and past almost all my replies to Word to check the spelling.

Thank you Wayne.
It's funny, i don't mind when others spell things incorrectly, but when I do it, it bugs the crap out of me!
I'm hoping it improves.........but if it doesn't, i'm hoping i learn to live with it and not beat myself up over it.

In two days i "graduate" from physical therapy. It's hard to believe it's been over 10 weeks now. I weighed in today, and was 199.7 pounds. This is the first time i have been under 200 pounds in about 20 years. I was as high as 240. I was 218 my first day at P.T.
So at least that is going well. I have worked my butt off!

It has nothing to do with your heart. It is simple CRS disease which comes from old age.

And you are not losing your wit, although it might be dimming just a bit ;)

"Trippster" wrote:

Agreed. You just have CRS. Don't worry, I have it too. It starts around 30 and gets worse every year. You should see Vikes. He's gone to work with 2 different shoes on more than one occasion.
