Ever since my surgery, I have been having BIG problems with typing, and spelling words correctly. There are even some words I KNOW how to spell, and I'll be damned if I can remember how to spell them.
EVERY post I make, i have to go over and over to correct spelling errors. Even then, I don't always catch them.
Reading, writting, spelling were always things i was good at. If i had a spelling error once in every 25 posts, it was alot. Now every one of them i screw something up. Sometimes several times in one posting.
They had my heart stopped for an hour and a half during surgery, and i was on the heart/lung machine. I was already noticing problems BEFORE my surgery, if any of you remember me posting about it. I can't help but think that some how because of the many heart blockages, i wasn't getting enough oxygen to my brain, and the surgery made it even worse. (Let the jokes begin....."We always knew you weren't getting enough oxygen to your brain, Cheesey!")
It's had me VERY frustrated for the last month and a half or so. Even talking, i have trouble coming up with the right words sometimes. When you are "Cheesey", you rely on your quick wit........if i lose that, what will i have left? (I know....."A half wit.")
Anyway..........thank you for letting me vent.
I'm "graduating" from physical therapy this coming Wednesday. (I think thats when my insurance runs out)
I have been getting "zinging" pains on both sides of my chest. NASTY things. The nurses tell me it's the nerves becoming active again, after the trauma. It's REALLY sore. Other then that, I'm doing ok.
Thanks again to my Packer "family". You all have been a GREAT help through this ordeal.

It has nothing to do with your heart. It is simple CRS disease which comes from old age.

And you are not losing your wit, although it might be dimming just a bit 😉

Yeah Trippster...........i WISH that was what it was! It just came on WAY too quick to be CRS.
At least i THINK it came on way too quick.....can't really remember........

And ZERO...........i read your post a couple of times before i got what you were refering too! (That SHOWS you how bad it's getting!)

And Ironman.........that would explain why Vikes hasn't been around much lately. He was probably off to New Orleans getting the doll made by some VOO DOO witch.

For what it's worth. I read somewhere that one of the best things you can do is a simple exercise. You only have to stand on one foot about 5 minutes a day. Something about keeping your balance which keeps the brain young. This may tie into the fact that Packer fans indulge in mass quantities of alcohol. This then also puts balance to the test?

Living in Germany obviously puts my balance to the test. Also my English is deteriorating & a spell chack here would not be a bad thing.

I've been having the same problem and I didn't have surgery. Probably something to do with being eligible for AARP.

Alan - You have mentioned many times the physical rehab that you are going through.
What about your mind?

There are many reasons for degradation of mental abilities, among them are age, stress, diet, etc.

Its important to challenge, stimulate and effectively exercise our minds to stay mentally sharp as our brains age.

Our minds consist of five main cognitive functions:
memory
attention
language
visual-spatial skills
executive function

Perhaps you might look into some mental exercises. Try some new things to challenge your mind.

I know that several years ago, I was noticing that my thought processes were not as sharp as they used to be. So now I do some exercises for the mind, and I have noticed an improvement.
(Alright, no smart ass comments from the rest of you cheeseheads on that one!)

Alan, use your computer and do some research. Also check with your physician.

As to the voodoo doll that David mentioned, I'm working on that one.............I'm gonna turn cheesey into a Vikings fan!
That will boost his cognitive level by a factor of 10 at least! ::razz:
