Saw a blurb before season that Stokes poor performance before his season ending injury last year had a lot to do with scheme. In man to man he was lights out. In zone he was getting cooked. Guess what coverage the defense was playing 67-75% of the time during games last year?

When Packers are aggressive and in man coverage, it's good things. When they are more passive and in man coverage, they get abused.

I'm just surprised that some people (not saying recently here nor in this thread but in general) are verbally destroying Barry zone coverage, but what they're actually described was the Packers getting beat playing man coverage at the end of the game.

And they're praising man coverage for the first parts of the game, but that was actually zone coverage.

Basically they're just confirming they don't know what they're talking about, and if something good happens, they're going to call it the coverage that they like, and if something bad happens, they're going to call it the coverage they don't like, and continue to be extremely biased.

But I believe according to PFF, the teams that run man coverage the most, only run it 45% of the time... Primary man coverage in the NFL doesn't exist anymore.

In 2022, Alexander and Douglas played best in zone. Nixon and Stokes played best in man coverage. But they also struggled in run defense/tackling.

But in today's NFL, you can't get away from zone coverage, as all 32 teams are running it over 50% of the time, as CBs can't get away with man coverage all game.

Now let's look at 2023 Grades... Stokes seriously sucked in zone coverage, but he was even worse in man coverage (note small sample size).

In 2023, the only Packers CB with a better man coverage grade than zone coverage grade currently is CB Ballentine, and he's under average at both

I believe that's true for both man and zone coverage.

Martha Careful (23-Sep) : Not with Dalton apparently
Mucky Tundra (23-Sep) : Not sure what to make of the NFC South so far this season (outside of the Panthers being a dumpster fire)

Mucky Tundra (22-Sep) : *without

Zero2Cool (22-Sep) : Malik to start. Love inactive. Per report. Let's go!!
buckeyepackfan (22-Sep) : I think J-10VE will be inactive, a little twist that could be put in is run a wildcat with Wicks at qb. Have him as emergency qb if needed.
Zero2Cool (21-Sep) : I think that's how it works.
Zero2Cool (21-Sep) : I'd go 3 QB regardless this game.
Zero2Cool (21-Sep) : Clifford was elevated, not activated. He doesn't play, it doesn't count.
hardrocker950 (21-Sep) : If Clifford is active, not likely to see Jordan play this weekend
Mucky Tundra (21-Sep) : QB Sean Clifford and CB Robert Rochell elevated from the PS for the Titans game
Zero2Cool (20-Sep) : Love questionable. Morgan is out. Valentine is doubtful

Mucky Tundra (16-Sep) : bears still have slim chance here
Mucky Tundra (16-Sep) : and there's another one!
Mucky Tundra (16-Sep) : oh crap macbob has the Texans K and he keeps hitting these long FGs
