Nice! But we need to see who positions have contracts. That's been a good telling point of what will be drafted.

Example. 2025 is low on OL. We can expect 2024 to yield some OL drafted and or free agent.

Yeah I did that for years, basically saying fans looks at need in terms of only the next year, but Packers look at need in terms of the next two years.

For a while there, I was extremely good at narrowing down the position of the 2nd player the Packers would take as it would be a needed position, often times with an important role going into a contract year.

Example, Aaron Jones (and Jaamall Williams) was going into a contract year... so we picked AJ Dillon a year early so that he can get a year of learning down before expected to play.

I think this was especially true under Thompson. But Gute's 2nd picks are often huge needs to, where sometimes people say the 1st pick isn't a need, but a guy with great future potential.

I was just thinking about the draft next year and where we stand in the draft order. I think it's plausible we could lose out very easily and that would give us around the 7th or 8th pick. So after doing some thinking, I was wondering if would we take a swing and maybe grab the Heisman winner, the QB from LSU. Now hear me out I don't see much improvement from when he was drafted. Ok, I did a Google search to get his draft strengths and weaknesses and look what was the 1st thing. And I noticed after watching a few YouTube videos how he misses wide-open guys because he has his mind made up at the line. Perfect example last week on the 4th and 2 play he threw it to the ref out of bounds but had Doubbs coming across the middle wide-open for an easy TD. On another play where he threw it to the 2 receivers in the same area, he had 2 other guys standing wide open in the center of the field.

We all see he has bad footwork and accuracy problems, so what did he do for the past 3 years besides catch all the bad habits from Rodgers. So we have Love under contract thru next year at a cheap number, I say grab a top qb and that way if Love doesn't improve we can let him walk and move on with another cheap contract.

This is just me thinking out loud and one last thing enough with all the comparisons Love Rodgers and Favre. The NFL is now set to make the QB have great stats. A perfect example of this is the 90-year-old Joe Flacco coming off his couch and throwing for 300 yards in 2 of his 3 starts so far. And a rookie with a rookie wideout and a 2nd-year player has 6 of 13 games of 300 plus yards including a 470-yard day. (interesting fact he has more 300-yard games than Rodgers has in his last 44 starts). So to compare what Love is doing to those guys is ridiculous. Am I saying Love is a bust NO, is he the next great thing , still to early but if he doesn't improve his vision and footwork he will be the next Ryan Fitzpatrick (career backup).

I can see us going Defense again during the draft (CB or S), but I really hope we draft an Offensive Lineman. One guy I have my eye on is Graham Barton from Duke. He is a later Rd1 or early Rd2 guy. Versatile and can play all positions on the line. I see him as a possible plug and play guy with whatever hole we may want to upgrade on the line next year. He is projected more inside, but with weakness at C and RG it would be nice to have someone better starting.

I want to draft a dominant DT in the first, but I'm not sure there is any like that in this years draft. So I'm thinking he'll be DB as well.

Look for a decent deal for a DT in FA. Sorta looking at Bengals DT DJ Reeder.

I was playing around with the sportstrac salary cap site and looking at next year. Now hear me out on this lol. We know the Jets are all in for next year so what do you say we trade them 2 guys that Rodgers would love to have? Trade them Bahk and also trade them Jaire seeing he seems to be turning into a cancer and now standing out so much. I would think we could ask for their 1st and 3rd and they would jump at that. That would be a scary starting CB combo with Sauce and Jaire and I am guessing you would see Bahk make a great recovery to play. Now besides getting rid of deadweight and a small cancer, we would clear up a ton of Salary cap space in the amount of having around $30 million next year, and ready for 2025 we would have $120 million in cap space so they could give Love his $30 million a year and not even make a dent. Do I think it will happen No besides Bahk is gone no matter what. Just fun to throw out some fun scenarios and we could have 2 1sts 2 2nds and who knows how many 3rds lol.
The only crappy thing would be is if we end up 3rd in our division and Rodgers comes to Lambeau with alot of guys with hurt feelings.
