Well non i guess that means we shouldn't plan on the playoffs then for what another 3 years? 😛 I think we can Mike McCarthy after this year and bring in a billacheat assistant and then we bring in there gm and we will be set :)

Good luck grabbing a GM from an active GM spot at another team too.

I despise the way NE is run, no matter how successful they are... They reward their emerging players by letting them go (A. Samuel), they pay big money for FA's, they suck at drafting. Cheering for NE is like pimping out a leased car.

NE should be fun to watch in the coming years. They realized they're in a bit of a pickle regarding their future, which was why they stockpiled so many picks this year.

I respect the fact that they win games. I just don't like how they do it, at all. I would feel cheap cheering for them. It's not nearly as much fun as watching a young team develop into perennial winners, like we're going to be able to do, imho.
And like I said, they are already starting to change their philosophy because they're aging and their depth is starting to suffer.

I will make this simple for people to understand. Mike McCarthy in 2007 had a seasoned vet that has seen every possible defense thrown at him so he would do alot of changing the plays at the line. Mike McCarthy stated last year that when Rodgers gets to the line he has a run/pass option on what he reads from the defense. It will be something Rodgers will have to learn to survive. But you people have to understand that. Brett did alot of play calling at the line in 2007 we saw tons of slants and last year we didn't see that many. Also i seen a poster say in the Texan game he didn't have time to throw by the time he got back and turned around the guy was there, in 2007 that play would have been one back step slant pass. So you guys can try and tear this apart all you want but it seems pretty simple to me. Brett made the line look alot better than it actually was, and in time who knows maybe Rodgers can do the same thing.

Perfectly put. It's not a dig on A-Rod but Brett had the experience to make split second decisions AND see things developing before the play started.

It's a 100% completely valid thing. Sure you can look at stats all day long but in the end there is that IT factor that Brett possessed.

I know it'll sound crazy, but I totally agree with the both of you, here - I'm probably more optimistic that Rodgers can learn to do things like that (I mean, there aren't a lot of guys who have the kind of experience and dumb luck Favre has always enjoyed, but the kid's only seen a year of live ammo, so to me it's as likely that he will acquire that ability), but otherwise I very much agree. There's no sense in denying that Favre assisted the line play with his savvy.

IN HIS PRIME... Brett did more than make the line look good. He made everyone look good... Including the Defense that the press would have been focused on for poor play if not for his heroics, and a victory in so many games.

Give Aaron another year or two of game time experience and I expect he will do the same thing.

Hell yeah that is why Favre is a first ballot Hall of Famer. Green Bay lucked out big time. :)

I hope Rodgers has similar success.

Every QB needs to start someplace in the progress to becoming an experienced NFL QB... sooner or later in Green Bay it had to happen.

Considering the track record of QB that followed legends in this league.. I think 08 proved to be highly successful. So why continue to bang on it.. sooner or later someone had to follow Favre.

Both Ted and Mike will have to answer the call if the Packers struggle again this season.. it will be upon Murphy to judge Ted and Ted to judge Mike.

Continuing this Brett saga again this season does nothing to prove it either way. Results this season will.. that there is da' facts.
