I didn’t hear the actual interview, so could be out of context. But this doesn’t sound very promising, or like they have much confidence in Love.

They have a very small sample size to go off of. By mid season we will know if he's a bust or not.

As of right now he reminds me of Carson Wentz. Makes a perfect throw and on the next down it goes in the dirt. He has shown promise but we need to see if he can do it at a consistent level.

I do expect the Packers to pick up the 5th year on Jordan Love though.

But yes, I hope that’s the case. I just don’t like the “brutal honesty” in this statement. I feel like he could’ve evaded the question without potentially offending Love.

YES, AND BY THEN ITS TOO LATE.

I am really surprised there is not more discussion/conjecture on this point.  We just traded a HOF QB because the staff, the front office, and most important Nerdmann are all in on Love.

Do the Packers really want to lose negotiating leverage by not picking up the option?   How stupid would they feel if he had a great year and they had not either re-negotiated or taken the option.

If we can't sign the guy to an extension NOW, I am taking the option if I am Gutey.

The huge “risk” they took by getting rid of Rodgers is definitely worth 20 million to see what we’ve got in Love. 20 million seems like a lot, but it’s not when you look at what other QB’s are making.

The only way I see it making sense is if they’re working on an extension right now that is more cap friendly. That’s what I am assuming is happening.

Gutey's supposed to stand up in public and loudly proclaim they should give him the biggest contract ever.

THEN start negotiating.

What if Love doesn't have a good year? Can the blame be on him 100 percent? Rodgers didn't have too much success in our offense last season. The packers have been trending down the last few seasons.
