The Kansas City Chiefs beat the Philadelphia Eagles in a spectacular Super Bowl on Sunday that was spoiled by classless Terry Bradshaw.

Yes, grabbing your crotch and smelling it and rubbing it with the microphone is so dazzling, so mesmerizing.

I get it, plenty of you are going to fire back with that “Old man yells at clouds” meme. My 50th birthday is a bit too close for comfort. But it’s not about being an old guy who grew up in a different generation. We’ve got two boys, 10 and 12. We’ve done well to raise a couple intelligent, respectful kids.

Our 10-year-old watched the game with us, and my wife and I cringed after a few minutes of the halftime show. Fortunately, we paused the game enough times that we were able to fast-forward through the rest of her show.

Not to go off on too much of a tangent here, but it’s all part of the cultural rot. And it’s all such a mixed message. Men are supposed to treat women with respect and not as sexual objects. And yet, what did boys and young men across America see? A beautiful woman with an amazing voice grabbing her ass suggestively.

The next time Detroit Lions running back Jamaal Williams is fined for his touchdown celebrations, like he was after scoring a pair of touchdowns at Green Bay in Week 18, his appeal should be clips if Rihanna’s halftime show.

Finally, what an embarrassment to have so many players slipping and sliding all over the playing field. The next time the NFL wants to hold the game on an ice rink, let me suggest a wonderful city in Wisconsin and one of the most iconic stadiums in all of sports.

I know, I know, there’s not enough hotel rooms in Green Bay to host a Super Bowl. But Sunday was a glorious, sunny day with highs in the low 40s. The field would have been infinitely more playable than the one in the Arizona desert.

I didn't bring the whole article over, just the portion I thought was most impactful. He's right and I am glad he said it.

The really lowlight of yesterday's Super Bowl was the halftime show.
That was truly puke worthy😝
A lot of younger people probably enjoyed it but at the age of 75 it sure wasn't for me!
And Stay off my lawn!

It would be so easy for the NFL to have a halftime show that is not offensive. The old , "We didn't know the performer was going to act raunchy" excuse is not acceptable. If the "entertainer" is young and appeals to the masses of teens and twenty year olds, odds are very high they will do something provocative. The thing is NFL, Inc LOVES it. People are going to talk about it for a very long time. That makes them feel relavent. Nothing worse than spending a few million dollars and no one talks about it for the next week or month or even longer.

There are so many "safe" options out there that will never be considered. They talk about honoring the men and women in the armed forces but they won't schedule the Marine Silent Drill Team. It was a good enough show for the Texans to schedule them but they don't want to watch them toss rifles or silently march in cadance at the SB. The horror of it all. I get a kick out of college marching bands moving around in formation while creating objects. Ohio State had the band form a person who kicked a "Ball" made up of other band members. That was pretty clever. There are so many options if they really wanted something else. They don't.

I could hear the teens screaming while Cindy Lou Who and the gyrating Oompa Lumpas struted around. I thought there was no way they had that many kids at the Super Bowl. If they did it owuld take more thn a half hour to get them out of their seats and down to the field. I am sure they rounded up a few thousand kids solely for the purpose of screaming doing the half time show then marched them back out of the stadium when it was over.

But a team might run away with the game in the first half so let's not throw a flag ever because it may impact the game.

Clearly officials NEED to do their job. They might impact the outcome but it is because the player commits a penalty when the game is on the line. So let's not get carried away. They should only throw the flag on major penalties. Holding, offsides, false starts, unabated to the QB are all acceptable non calls in the last 5 minutes. That won't work either. If players know they can get away with things they WILL push the envelope to see how much they can do without getting called.

So what should be done? How about players playing within the rules of the game? That's a novel idea. If they get caught breaking the rules then they should stand up and admit it. Just like Bradberry did.

Philadelphia Eagles cornerback James Bradberry took responsibility for a questionable holding call late in Super Bowl LVII on Sunday that helped swing the game in the Kansas City Chiefs' favor.
"I was hoping he would let it go, but of course he's a ref, it was a big game," Bradberry said after the Eagles' 38-35 loss. "It was a hold, so they called it."

ESPN

Truth is, the refs didn't impact the game. Bradberry impacted the game when he got beat, HE CHEATED. He was caught cheating and penalized for it.

I don't like it, but honestly it seems like "entertainers" have a quota, that they have to do something raunchy, or they're not allowed on the stage, especially the females.

Like in theory they don't have to do it... but at the same time, I haven't seen any female avoid it, and get invited back to the big stage.

To the point, I think I've become used to it, and my mind just naturally ignores it.

I think one comedian put it well, (and I don't remember whom, and can't put the same comedic spin on it), but

On one side of culture they were having cancel culture to the song, "Baby it's cold outside" because allegedly it gave rape vibes, and demeaned women.

On the other side, was the most popular song, song by females and supposedly empowering them, called "WAP" which for those that don't know, especially stated in the song stands for Wet A$$ Pu$$y.

So on one hand, I totally and completely agree with some of you, that entertainers should absolutely stop pushing the envelope and stop being so outrageous...

But on the other hand... it truly seems like if they aren't pushing some sort of boundary or line, then for whatever reason they're completely forgotten about...

And of course, entertainers like all of us will keep doing what it takes to put keep money in our pockets... so if it takes doing something outrageous for that to happen, that's what they'll do.

And we as the audience need to stop giving attention to outrage and need to start giving attention to positive things.

Because whatever we give our attention to is what they're going to keep doing...

Oh the absolute irony of posting that Ricky Gervais video in this thread. In this instance, all the uptight old men complaining that a singer sang a song and danced at the Superbowl... are the easily offended snowflakes that Ricky is talking about.

She wore a jumpsuit under a heavy winter coat. Nearly naked? Only in your imagination.

As to the "stop sexualizing me!" comment, there's a crucial differentiation here. If a woman wants to be sexy, wants to sexualize herself, that is her choice. Men sexualizing women against their will is a major problem, and it's not a problem that goes away when an entertainer does a provocative dance. Here's a practical example, your wife or girlfriend may want to put on some sexy lingerie when the mood strikes. But that doesn't mean she wants to be constantly thought of as a sexual object, or raped when the mood strikes you but not her. Or deal with unwanted sexual advances out in public, in the workplace, etc. The choice and free will part of this is critical.
