Did I say she was nearly naked? No. Maybe you should try reading what you're replying to instead of using your ignorant imagination to prop yourself up on some moral high horse.

I don't like it, but honestly it seems like "entertainers" have a quota, that they have to do something raunchy, or they're not allowed on the stage, especially the females.

Like in theory they don't have to do it... but at the same time, I haven't seen any female avoid it, and get invited back to the big stage.

To the point, I think I've become used to it, and my mind just naturally ignores it.

I think one comedian put it well, (and I don't remember whom, and can't put the same comedic spin on it), but

On one side of culture they were having cancel culture to the song, "Baby it's cold outside" because allegedly it gave rape vibes, and demeaned women.

On the other side, was the most popular song, song by females and supposedly empowering them, called "WAP" which for those that don't know, especially stated in the song stands for Wet A$$ Pu$$y.

So on one hand, I totally and completely agree with some of you, that entertainers should absolutely stop pushing the envelope and stop being so outrageous...

But on the other hand... it truly seems like if they aren't pushing some sort of boundary or line, then for whatever reason they're completely forgotten about...

And of course, entertainers like all of us will keep doing what it takes to put keep money in our pockets... so if it takes doing something outrageous for that to happen, that's what they'll do.

And we as the audience need to stop giving attention to outrage and need to start giving attention to positive things.

Because whatever we give our attention to is what they're going to keep doing...

That said, I think we Americans have a rather unhealthy view of sex and sexuality - to the point that a child seeing a female nipple or a woman breast feeding in public is seen as some sort of sinfil, unacceptable act. Everyone has nipples, men, women, children. Everyone, they're just nipples for Pete's sake.

Anyway, enough about nipples. I think the WAP song is interesting and in some way groundbreaking in that it's one of the very few examples of a female artist singing about their genitals, and by extension their sexuality, in a way that is very common and largely socially acceptable when men use the same sort of language. How many songs are there about having a big dick, getting your dick sucked, etc? Way too many to even think about counting. While this is more pervasive in hip hop and rap music, it's far from the only genre where men talk about their prowess or sexual conquests. Classic rock, metal, country, folk, blues, a huge portion of all the music ever produced is about sex in some form or another, though of course some examples are less explicit or more poetic than others.

Amusingly, Kelis' "My Milkshake Brings All the Boys to the Yard" is really the same song as WAP - the lyrics just aren't as explicit.

I didn't watch the Super Bowl, nor the half-time show. That I thought was kind obvious by me questioning what happened in the opening post.

Alright, so you didn't mean Rihanna, the person the conversation has centered around, when you wrote "nearly naked". In that case, can you explain what value the fictious scenario you seem to have invented adds to the conversation? Or how it relates?

This is what I was responding to. Which if you read what I said, and read this, you'll notice similar wording that makes it clear what I was talking about.

But we don't wanna read to understand, we rather read to response and make ourselves look magnanimous.

EQ- just because a guy sings or raps about his junk doesn't make it any more acceptable.
As for classic rock I often wonder if the performer that sang a song in the 60s or 70s, cringes when their grandchildren listen to it. A few years ago the original MTV VJays were interviewed. Most of them said they were a bit embarrassed about what they said or what they wore. (At least some of them did.)
