If they can get and stay healthy, yes, that's the enemy... injuries. If the OL, Tonyan, MVS and Dillon were healthy, we would of won the Super Bowl this year.

The question is will our team be healthy next year?

YOU stop it. Aaron is a 4 time MVP including the past 2 seasons. He's still got mad skills. What he needs is other players on the team to actually live up to their abilities as well. He should not have to throw the team on his back and trudge down the field.
Was he off in the SF playoff game? Yes but that was not your question. Does he have to play like Russell Wilson did a few years ago when he nearly brought the Seahawks back against GB? No. He shouldn't have to. Then again, the younger man, Wilson, didn't win that game did he? Rodgers should be able to play an average game for an NFL playoff QB and the team still win. Not be the superman on the team and win the game despite other players on the team failing.

I don't know why this can be so difficult for some to comprehend. This isn't bashing Aaron Rodgers. This is merely posing my opinion that no longer can Aaron Rodgers tilt post-season games in favor for the Packers BASED ON what I've seen the last few years.

Do I want someone else as QB? Nope. I still want Aaron Rodgers, even if I feel he can't tilt the needle at home when it's horrible weather outside. You put this same 2021 team in a dome or warmer climate and I think Aaron Rodgers would be the difference and the Packers win.

It's that simple.

Of course he can. More likely now than in the past, because now he's got this defense backing him up.

His biggest obstacle is himself, though. Bringing back his long time sycophant Tom Clements, is unlikely to keep him running the actual offense.

Can he win one? Sure,if the team is good enough. QBs do not win games, teams do. You cant apply NBA hot takes onto a sport that is the ultimate team sport. So if our offense gets better, our defense stays the same abd our ST drastically get better then yea, Rodgers can win another ring.

I also think he can. But not on his own. They have to find a way to keep their best players, and add to the team to shore up the weak points.
That will be very hard to do considering the salary cap.

One is retirement and I just don't see that happening. The other is returning with perhaps an extension to manipulate the cap. The other is to sweet talk Gute into trading him to another team. I suspect he will return but who knows...? 🤔

That said, "Putting the team on his back" and "tilting the game in your favor" are nearly the same thing even if you don't think so. It's the QB rising up and overcoming other problems the team is facing and winning despite the other shortcomings.
Very few QBs have that ability. Very few QBs can do it all their career. The Packers have been a "dome" type team for years. Going back to Favre, it has been this way. They might win a cold weather game but they have lost plenty of them too.
bboystle mentioned the missing running game. Part of that was Dillon's injury. Part of that was the failure of the OL to block in the running game.
If Lewis and Deguara had caught their passes Aaron may not have felt Adams was their only hope. It may have thrown the ball to the open receiver who was running a shorter crossing route instead of trying to force the deep route that was double teamed. You know the pattern that has almost no chance of success.
Completions on the drop passes keeps the drive alive and they may have scored. It may have only been FGs (Another chuckle) but that would have been 6 more points. The Last Drive going to the underneath receiver also could have worked out well scoring points or at the very least forcing a tie and not leaving SF with time until OT. All these failures by other players would have given Rodgers the perception of tilting the field. His QB rating would have probably been over 100 again and all would have been right with the world.

As for the OL. I am still pissed off it appears they shuffled things around. Why the hell was Billy Turner at LT? They did the same BS last year vs Buccaneers didn't they?

The Packers need to have a better supporting cast because the QB can't tilt it in their favor. How can we do that if he consumes $50 million of cap space? I haven't a clue and sure as hell glad my dork ass don't have that duty, lol.

I'm still in the boat of giving Aaron something like 10 year $200 million contract that's guaranteed. Once playing career is done, he transitions into face of franchise kind of thing and still pockets the cash. And Packers can spread that cash throughout a decade. Seems like a win-win, except for the whole inflation thing, haha.

Yes, when players drop passes it sucks. Aaron has said himself he is OK with drops unless it's a MENTAL issue. He feels mental issues are preventable. You still need to hit the open guy and move the chains. I can't say he didn't do that a lot, but there were a few times while at the game I saw someone open and he forced it to 17. I was freezing my ass off and could see someone breaking free. I also had the luxury of not having 300 lb men wanting to smash by balls down my throat. My point is simply this. He has to trust his guys on the field. If he can't do that, he needs to retire. They got you that far, trust them to take you the rest of the way. I am NOT saying he doesn't, but it's hard to argue against it with how often he forced it to 17 who was covered well.

Aaron Rodgers does not play Special Teams, but if the Packers can't score more than 13 points at home in a playoff game, they do not deserve to advance. The loss of AJ Dillon is something I believe really hurt the Packers. That being said, the NFL MVP should have been able to lead an offense to more than 13 points at home in the playoffs in the climate they so badly wanted.

Aaron Rodgers isn't why the Packers loss, but he could have been the reason they won and wasn't. That's what I'm talking about with this thread. He won't be why we lose, but it doesn't seem like he's going to be why win either.

It doesn't matter how many points you score as long as you win. Unfortunately our ST gave up a TD and blocked a FG and that was the difference in the game. Let's hope our new ST coordinator can help fix this mess so this unit is not the worst in the league again in 2022.

The 49ers weren't the home team. They didn't get the climate they wanted. They didn't have Special Teams issues all season they knew they had to overcome. And on and on.

The Packers offense failed. You cannot convince me otherwise. They had everything how they wanted and needed. They failed. Defense did their part. Special Teams was the same trash as it has been. The offense is what underperformed and failed.

It happens. That's why the NFL is a juggernaut for viewership. Any. Given. Sunday.

Or Saturday in this case lol
