Longtime creeper, first time poster. I apologize if this annoys anyone but I needed an outlet for my feelings right now. What a crappy feeling. I am just gutted. Ignoring the strange play calling on both sides of the ball by the coaching staff at the end, I am here to more discuss just the overall picture - ignoring the frustrations of this particular and latest playoff loss (as hard as that is to do).
I have been a Packers fan for a long time, not as long as the Lambeau era because I was not born yet but for the entire Favre era and Rodgers era. I remember when the Packers won that Super Bowl with Favre against the Pats and thinking, wow we are going to win at least TWO more, how can anyone beat this team! Even after the Denver Broncos SB loss, I felt the same and thought we will be back 100%, we got an elite QB in his prime! Then we never even made it back to the SB, let alone win one. Then Rodgers era, we won that Super Bowl and with Rodgers it felt like we have at least THREE more Super Bowls in us with this team. How can we ever lose, we have a QB that looks even better than Favre! Then every year another year goes by. Rodgers still has at least 6 more years at an elite level in my view with these new NFL passer friendly rules so its not over for certain, we are a Super Bowl contender as long as we have an elite QB, but hard to be optimistic at this point. This just sucks. I guess it just shows, it is REALLY REALLY hard to win multiple SBs and why the Brady-Belicheks of the world are so rare.
I am in no way giving up on this team, so please do not take it that way. I just mean that I think I underestimated with both the Favre and Rodgers era how hard it is to win multiple Super Bowls. At least we are not the Browns, Jags, etc. but the fn Pats are spoiled and annoying. I am going to try to REALLY REALLY enjoy the next time we even make it to a Super Bowl, its hard man!
