I generally have a pessimitic outlook on things, but for some strange reason, but like last week, I really like our chances this week.

I think Love would have to be jacked be in a contest against a very highly rated quarterback. I just hope he does not have red zone brain farts.

The main thing I don't like about this, is that Love is getting his first chance in one of the loudest stadiums. I'm more concerned with the noise than the other issues. Lol

How's the Chiefs' run defense?

Just to add some value, especially for you youngsters, on the expression 'piss poor" which all_about_da_packers used perfectly in the last post:

There are two theories on its derivation

1. In reference to Poverty
History claims, “They used to use urine to tan animal skins, so families used to all pee in a pot and then once a day it was sold to the tannery. If you had to do this to survive you were ‘piss poor’.”

2. Lacking in Quality
Perhaps invented around the Second World War, because the first examples in print date from 1946.

Piss began to be attached to other words during the twentieth century to intensify their meaning. Ezra Pound invented piss-rotten in 1940 (distasteful or unpleasant, the first example on record) and we’ve since had piss-easy (very easy), piss-weak (cowardly or pathetic), piss-elegant (affectedly refined, pretentious), piss-awful (very unpleasant) and other forms.

After two of the Green Bay Packers' three quarterbacks tested positive for COVID-19 this week, Jordan Love feared he would be next. But Love has tested negative each of the past three days and on Friday said, "I'm confident that I'm good right now."

Love is scheduled to make his first NFL start Sunday at the Kansas City Chiefs, while starter Aaron Rodgers and third-stringer Kurt Benkert remain on the reserve/COVID-19 list. Love spoke Friday for the first time since Rodgers' diagnosis, wearing a mask at the Lambeau Field podium as part of what he said were extra precautions this week. Love told reporters that he is fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

"I was a little shocked but not crazy shocked," Love said about Rodgers' diagnosis. "Just because with Kurt testing positive earlier in the week, I kind of figured something might happen in the quarterback room. I didn't know what would happen, but just hearing that, my initial thought was ... wondering what would shake out with all of the close contacts and how things would break down and just affect all of us in the room. That was my first thought, and just obviously trying to get my mind right for starting this week. But I prepared for this, and I'm confident in myself."

Love has been at the center of an organizational firestorm from the moment the Packers drafted him as Rodgers' heir apparent in 2020. Rodgers was surprised by the decision and spent much of the past offseason thinking through possible exit strategies. He ultimately reported to training camp, postponing Love's ascension, but Sunday could be a preview of the Packers' 2022 starting quarterback.

Packers coach Matt LaFleur said Love has been "locked in" during practice and meetings this week.

"I think he's come a long way, but by no means is he a finished product," LaFleur said. "It's going to be a great opportunity for him to get his feet wet for the first time in a meaningful game, being that it's the regular season. So it'll be a great learning experience for him, and I'm just excited for his opportunity."

Love took 15 snaps at the end of the Packers' blowout loss to the New Orleans Saints in Week 1, completing 5 of 7 passes for 68 yards in the fourth quarter. But Sunday will be his first regular-season appearance with an outcome on the line.

He will have an important weapon on the field with him. The Packers activated All-Pro wide receiver Davante Adams from the reserve/COVID-19 list Friday.

"We haven't played together yet, so there's not really a way to describe [the connection]," Adams said. "It's going to be new, but I'm looking forward to seeing how the game goes."

Packers quarterback Jordan Love gets to make his first start against the Chiefs, who have perhaps the worst defense in the NFL.

The Chiefs are allowing an NFL-worst 6.4 yards per play. The Chiefs’ defense has committed an NFL-high 62 penalties. They’ve recorded just 11 sacks in eight games, the worst mark in the NFL. They’re in the Bottom 10 of the league in everything from yards allowed to points allowed to first downs allowed to completion percentage allowed to yards per pass allowed to passer rating allowed to touchdown passes allowed.

That doesn’t mean Love, the 2020 first-round pick who has thrown just seven passes in his NFL career, is going to have a big game on Sunday. But it does mean that he’s getting about the easiest opposing defense he could face in his first NFL start.

Go get 'em kid.

Figured Aaron would miss time at some point. I was hoping it would be at least after week 10. Week 9, not too bad, especially since Aaron isn't actually hurt. AFC team too, not to jinx us but good time to do it if we have too.

Went back and watched the preseason, feel more confident, again, not to jinx.

beast (16h) : Either the Cowboys have no idea what they're doing, or they're targeting their former OC, currently the Eagles OC
Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Fake news. Cowboys say no
Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Mystery candidate in the Cowboys head coaching search believed to be Packers ST Coordinator Rich Bisaccia.
beast (23-Jan) : Also why do both NYC teams have absolutely horrible OL for over a decade?
beast (23-Jan) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Aaron Glenn Planning To Take Jets HC Job
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Martha- C'est mon boulot! 😁
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you

Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you. I rarely get sick, and even more rarely sick to the point I can't work.
wpr (22-Jan) : Beast- back to yesterday, I CAN say OSU your have been Michigan IF the odds of making the playoffs were more urgent.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : I've been near death ill last several days, finally feel less dead and site issues.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : It is a big deal. This host is having issues. It's frustrating.
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : just kidding...it was down
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : and there's the dagger
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooo 8 point game with 4 minutes to go!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooooooohhhhhh he missed!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame vs the Luckeyes, bleh
