Now we have NFL network reporting that Aaron Rodgers was telling our prospective free agents last year that he wouldn't be returning this year. You can look at that as him being a good bud to his teammates, I can look at it as cutting GBP's balls. THEN factor in the release of Boyle...did he tell him?

He is going to be asked several questions if he comes out of hiding.

That might be true.
That said, what is so awful that he can't just do his job and be happy? Other then 2010, he has failed several times in the playoffs. Including last season, when he had everything he said he wanted as far as a home NFC title game.
I'm sure every employee of every company would like to control their bosses. I think Rodgers is too big for his britches. The Packers can't allow him or any other employee control what they do.
I wonder what his teammates think? If they see him getting his way, do you not think they will try the power play too?
Honestly, I wish this would just end either way.

I've said this before and I'm guessing you didn't read it (I post a lot, it happens, lol) so I'll say it again. I do believe Rodgers is pissed about something. I do not believe it is money. I know it's not the selecting of Jordan Love unless Aaron has lied publicly over and over again and to his friends who have said as much publicly. Remember when he said he poured himself a glass a Scotch after the pick? Do you also remember the following context? Probably not because the media likes to undermine our intelligence by omitting such details. He poured Scotch because he knew he was going to be flooded with phone calls, texts and the circus that would ensue. Yeah, not so sexy as "Packers trading up to get Rodgers replacement causes him to drink", huh?

Make no mistake, my fury is at the media, not you Alan.

Aaron said the drafting of a QB in the first round made it a reality that he doesn't control where he ends his career. That was something he had to accept. He said this countless times on Pat McAfee's show and said he's come to peach with it. I believe that.

I believe Aaron and the Packers in the middle of a contract negotiation that both sides want about 60% the same thing and the remaining 40% is what's holding it apart. I believe Aaron wants to extend his timeline with the Packers and I think the Packers want to hold the cards on when they can move on from him if the eventual drop-off happens before anyone expects.

The talk about Jake Kumerow ... REALLY pisses me off. Rodgers said he liked Kumerow and what not and he was cut the next day. This wasn't done in spite of Rodgers. This was most certainly decided before Rodgers comments were even made. Not many are connecting those dots -- just reading headlines.

AGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH -- the media .... so angry is me!!!

I get it, Kevin.
It’s like we are on a jury, and given 5% of the facts and are expected to make a choice on which side is more guilty.
It’s impossible for any of us to actually know what the hell is going on, given the minuscule amount of facts we have been given.
By the time either side actually opens their mouths and let everyone know what actually going on, I myself won’t care.
As each day goes on, I care less and less about it.

The Kumerow debacle is the most revealing and telling in my opinion. He wasn't a key to the Packers going to the SB but that didn't matter to ARod. He expressed his opinion and got rejected. How DARE Gutey make him look foolish regardless of the fact Arod set himself up making these statements the day before final cuts.

Well what about drafting Love? Well what about that? He noted it at the time and seemed to move on didn't he? Had a great year. Threw 48 TD's to SOMEBODY!!
He didn't care about not taking a WR and didn't care Gutey failed to talk to him first. He was embarrassed and it was a deja vu moment going back to the night he was drafted. How DARE the Packers do this to ME in front of the whole world!

So there better be a whole lot more come out and come out soon because he's looking pretty damn WEAK right now if you ask me. He's willing to sacrifice his place in Packer lore as the greatest ever or at least on the Packer Mt. Rushmore over this?

Say it ain't so Joe. Please say it ain't so.

Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : *had to be IRed at 53
Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : beast, I thought the designate return from IR players had to be IR at cutdowns to 53, not before
beast (8-Aug) : It's a brand new rule, either last season or this season, prior, all pre-season IRs were done for the season
beast (8-Aug) : But the Packers would have to use one for their return from IR spots on him, when they cut down to 53.
beast (8-Aug) : I think the NFL recently changed the IR rules, so maybe the season might not be over for OL Glover.
