point of this thread was if the Pack got to the NFCCG in 2 years form going 6-10, why cant they get there in 2 years with what seems to be better over all talent?

And your going to take the 05 offense?

LOL

39 Td last year on offense..27 FG made in 08

31 TDs on offense in 05.......20 FG made in 05

I can't read it for you LT

I said with no injuries I'd take the 05 offense. Throwing out stats when we were on a gazillionth string RB and throwing balls to a guy named Taco is really proving some kind of point

Brett, Javon, DD, Green, Henderson, Franks anyday over A-Rod, Grant, Kuhn, Jennings, DD and Lee

It's funny how you are getting on DH for selectively picking stats when you compared it to the 05 offense which was decimated beyond belief with injuries.

So go ahead and use 05 as a barometer when half the team was on IR. Funny you didn't choose to use 04 when GB racked up 45 TD's. Thats with the starters on the field

45 TD's > 39 TD'S
10-6 > 6-10
NFC North 1st > NFC North 3rd
Playoffs > No playoffs

If anyone is going out of their godforsaken way to make an argument look good it's LT. Let's find the worse record in the last 2 Decades and compare this team to it. Stunning.

The fact is if this team was winning you wouldn't have to dig up, manipulate, and twist the facts to support your feelings. You would know by what matters when all is said and done........Success

also you used Montgomery and Rouse as starters for the 2008 team and they were the injury replacements but you still used Green and Walker as starters for the 2005 team??

good catch...Probably a mistake but also could be the only way his argument could look good

Whats so bad about comparing the worst record to the second worst record teams?

Nothing, unless your trying to prove a point as to which team had more talent.

Lets see

Jennings > Taco Wallace
Driver > Taco Wallace
Jones > Taco Wallace
Nelson > Taco Wallace
My Sister > Taco Wallace
The guy down the street with no arms > Taco Wallace
Anybody > Taco Wallace

If you are going to compare starters without injury that's fine. But don't pick a year where we were completely decimated by injuries and then use in comparison to an 08 team who had some players banged up here and there.

Excuse me you said what?

I believe you said this

I'm not sure what the point of this thread is but it is eye-opening our Defense gave up more points than the 4-12 unit did last year. I would take our Offense in 05 with Favre, Donald Driver, Javon, Green, Henderson and Franks over what we have now. The O-Line is a wash to me. The only unit I can say was better last year was maybe WR.

Show me where in the hell you said anything about injuries? I went back and looked at your posts and saw nothing...You only brought up injuries NOW

And I didnt use 04 cuz they had a very good record..

05 had a bad record just as 08 had a bad record...You know compare teams with similar records to one another..

I know lets use 08 Lions to 08 Steelers who had better talent?

Are you seriously clueless on to why you use similar record teams to compare talents? WOW.....

You have the choice of the OVERALL team in 05, or the over all team in 08..

Injuries can't be used on Rodgers, Jenkins, Al, or others for the poor record this year, but thats all we hear about in 05..

Let me spell it out once again..

In 2 years a 4-12 team got to NFCCG with what I believe as a whole, a bad team...

So why can't a 6-10 team with better talent as a WHOLE get back there just as fast?

Wow...LOL

Why not use 04 to 08 teams..Just amazing!

If I had to choose overall, and were to include injuries, I'd go with 08. If you took away the injuries of 05' and the injuries of 08' and gave me a choice I'd go with 05'.

I just cant understand how anyone can say its better talent? We have guys that never make the field but yet are getting ranked higher than guys that played in 05. The opinion was the starters in 05 overall were better so people started trying to say we have better depth than back then. But how can you tell because the guys were forced to play back than and we have the potential players on our bench now.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

I think most people can see that people like Jordy Nelson, Will Blackmon, Tramon Williams, Finley, Jackson, etc. are very talented. Of course we don't KNOW this, most of us can't see the future. However, this is a thread about TALENT, and most serious Packer fans can see that these guys have tremendous talent and great upside. Whether or not that talent is ever reached or not is a different story, but once again, this a thread about talent.

So how do you rate talent if they don't play? So it goes by peoples opinions like im still trying to see this so called great talent in Nelson and Blackmon. Blackmon is an average punt returner and thats it, its all hes ever been. Nelson is an average at best wr from what he showed on the field like i have said hes a Don Beebe type receiver in my eyes. But i guess you guys will say im full of shit but oh well im used to it. Also i see your point on some things i mean hell as long as our 3rd string TE was better last year than 05 that makes this a better team who cares about the starters and the guys that actually played.
