We need a new WR coach

BAM!

I wonder who we are looking at?

I know this isn't relevant to the open WR position, but Im hoping Matt LF makes a play for Mike LF again. If I remember right, he was denied permission to interview him last year when building his initial staff. I can't remember what position he wanted to bring him in for, but I believe Mike's contract with SF expires after the Super Bowl (2 words Kevin!)

Don’t know if it was the coach’s fault for lack of performance from the WR position, but at least everyone else realizes they suck too.

Contrast that with the report that they were contemplating bringing in a stud wide out at the trade deadline.

In toto, they realize the position needed addressing. I feel it is more likely to be through FA than draft....I just hope it isn't Cooper

To be honest I hope that we double down on WR with this deep draft. Get some speed outside and some shifty slot guy.

The more I think that the players failed to improve, the more I recall how Aaron Rodgers had a hard time learning the offense and needed a play chart on his wrist to help him with the length of the play calls.

Several players and coaches spoke highly of how much talent Valdes-Scantling has. I wonder if the WR coach was scrapped as possibly viewed as a replaceable part in hopes to get more out of 83? Seems like a huge move for a guy drafted in the 5th round though.

Either way, I think the Packers absolutely need to draft a WR and land a tier 2 WR in Free Agency. We need two starters (assuming 3 WR set) going into 2020.

49ers’ passing game coordinator Mike LaFleur, who was working on an expiring contract and had been wanted in Green Bay to join his brother Matt, signed a contract extension this postseason with SF, per league source. Now LaFleur isn’t going anywhere; he’s remaining with 49ers.

The point is that if the QB is having any issue (slight or otherwise) with the offensive system, it's a safe bet the WR's will as well.

dfosterf (25-Jun) : Because I was too lazy to change my address, I haven't voted fot years until this year
dfosterf (25-Jun) : of the folks that run this team. I do not recall Mark Murphy being subject to our vote.
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Ed Policy yay or nay is on the pre-approved ballot that we always approve because we are uninformed and lazy, along with all the rest
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Weird question. Very esoteric. For stockholders. Also lengthy. Sorry. Offseason.

Mucky Tundra (25-Jun) : And then he signs with Cleveland in the offseason
Mucky Tundra (25-Jun) : @SharpFootball WR Diontae Johnson just admitted he refused to enter a game in 41° weather last year in Baltimore because he felt “ice cold”
