The problem that some overlook every year is that you cannot depend on any draft pick to step onto the field an immediatley become an impact player.

If a team is lucky they get 1 guy each year who becomes a starter, if they are really lucky they get a guy who actualy makes a difference and another who starts.

The draft is to build depth on a team, drafted players need time to develope, especially d-lineman and o-lineman.

Seems to me that the easiest position to make an impact is the RB position, seems every year you see 2 or 3 rb's drafted in rounds 3-7 end up starting and making a difference.

I really do think that Ted Thompson (if the chance is there)will trade down, looks like all the big OT's will be gone, and I just don't think he will take another D-lineman. That leaves M. Jenkins who probably will be available later in the first round.

Here's a question for everyone.

Things fall right, Crabtree, the #1 WR just might still be on the board when the Packers pick. Do you take him?

I wouldn't hesitate, another weapon for Aaron Rodgers in a couple of years.

Also watch for Philly to try and make a trade up to get him, Packers could be in a good position for this to happen.

Drafts are a crapshoot, let's hope it's a good year for Ted Thompson and crew at the table.

Crabtree is bait to be dangled for a trade back, along with Sanchez. This is their best value to us at the 9 pick, imo. The ideal tradeback is three spots, taking the last of the 4 OT's in the first. Raji is long gone, in the first, which imo, is probably a good thing.

We have to reach for an NT in this draft. Every single one of them, relative to their relative value in the grand NFL scheme of things. The extra pick in a trade back will equalize things to a certain degree, wherever? however you look at it. This is not fun to contemplate, it is simply logical, and it does simply suck.

The subject itself would have been better presented had it included the words, "In this draft".

Nah. Your "Do you like Metal?" reply for what you'd ask Ted Thompson was classic.

Back to the question, I agree with Cheesey. I got sick of seeing our DBs cover guys like glue for 4 seconds, then after 4 seconds, the WR got open because the DL failed to generate any pressure.

Our DBs got a lot of INTs. Imagine if we actually had a DL that could generate pressure. Our DL also couldn't stop the run and as much as people complained about our LBs, it's because they were exhausted by the 4th Q because the DL wasn't doing s*** the whole game.

FACT - The majority of the teams in the SBs in the past decade have had really good passing games. Passing is where it's at. The best way to stop a passing attack is to stop the QB from passing the ball. We watched the Giants win a SB with AVERAGE DBs, but a top tier pass rush. Tom Brady, the best player in the NFL, was stopped because he had no time.

We're not going to get very far with a mediocre pass rush. That needs to be priority #1.

Martha Careful (21h) : Yes, in the military S2’s work on IPB, PERCEC, PHYSEC and IO
dfosterf (4-May) : FYI civilian companies swipe the S2 designation from the military. S2 is the intelligence branch up to brigade level. G2 is division level.
dfosterf (4-May) : Google it. Make sure to tack NFL on it or you will get the military meaning
Zero2Cool (4-May) : S2?
beast (4-May) : Seems like the S2 has a love/hate relationship with professional scouts.
beast (4-May) : In theory, the S2 test how quickly a QBs brain can solve game like issues and how quickly they can do it.
dfosterf (4-May) : Are you gentlemen and at least one lady familiar with the S2 cognition
Zero2Cool (4-May) : Maybe there isn't an issue.
beast (4-May) : NFL really needs to fix their position labeling issue, but I don't think they care
Zero2Cool (1-May) : Packers did not activate the fifth-year options for linebacker Quay Walker, with the goal of signing him to a contract extension.
Zero2Cool (1-May) : Matthew Golden spoke with Randall Cobb before draft. Looked like chance encounter.

Mucky Tundra (27-Apr) : Cowboys 1st round pick Tyler Booker will indeed be bringing his pet turtle to Dallas with him

Mucky Tundra (27-Apr) : beast, according the Falcons statement Jax came across it on an ipad. If I had to guess, probably an open spread sheet or something
Zero2Cool (27-Apr) : Simmons put up an emoji with cheese.
beast (27-Apr) : Not sure anyone is interested in Isaiah Simmons... Collin Oliver might of taken his potential slot
beast (27-Apr) : I'm going with Jax Ulbrich is not telling the whole truth... he accidentally came across it? Why would a defensive coordinator have a QB #?
Zero2Cool (27-Apr) : He's not that great, but final piece of the script.\
Zero2Cool (27-Apr) : If we add Isaiah Simmons, book your Super Bowl tickets
Mucky Tundra (27-Apr) : Colts 1st round TE Tyler Warren also got prank called, was that Jax Ulbrich as well?
Zero2Cool (27-Apr) : Jax Ulbrich, Jeff Ulbrich’s son, released an apology for his role in the Shedeur Sanders prank call.
Martha Careful (27-Apr) : apparently he did not participate in practice or play on the east west shrine game nor the NFL combine. The kid was a mediocre spoiled brat
Mucky Tundra (27-Apr) : Yeah that one that was a super wounded duck that Sanders supporters are highlighting to prove a point
Zero2Cool (27-Apr) : Shough is the guy who missed guys at combine isn't he?

Mucky Tundra (26-Apr) : saw the tweet, he meant the city
Mucky Tundra (26-Apr) : Was that for the team or the city?
