i hate hot takes like "as good as your record"

Thats for teams that play against a weak schedule (Pats and Niners)

Packers are 7-1 with a very hard schedule playing against playoff bound teams. Screw the ESPN hot takes and doubters. We would normally fold vs good teams. Not this year. Cant wait until we beat the Niners and shut everyone up. Thats a team that isnt as good as their record. Who have they faced? Rams? yea they aint the same Rams of yesteryear. Panthers? Yea good job beating a rookie QB and a bad defense.

Same with Pats. at least with the Pats they have a history of winning in todays games vs good teams.

And we had a history of losing games vs good teams. Not anymore though. This team can make a run with its defense. U dont need to be top 5 in every category to win. QB pressure and turnovers and points allowed can win u championships.

the 2011 Giants, for example, were 29th overall ranked defense going into the playoffs. The only stats they were good in is getting to the QB, and getting turnovers. Something our D can do. If we click at the right time, we can make a run.

Pettine's strategy was to play a lot of soft zone, blitz very little and keep KC's playmakers from getting huge plays.
The strategy worked.
Anybody who thinks The Packers are going to hold every team under 20 points is dreaming.

There are going to be some games where The Offense is just going to have to outscore the other team.
That's just the way it is in todays NFL.

The League wants points!
The fans want points!

Seems The Offense has come together and is clicking on all cylinders.

The Defense just has to keep creating turnovers and The Packers will be just fine.

It is like the "talking heads" forget that teams have talent beyond the QB or starters.

The Chiefs have been considered a SB contender going into the season, part of that consideration is the overall talent on the roster. Just because the starting QB goes down, does not change the elite speed that KC has on the edges of the offense. Or that they may have a offensive line that is NFL quality.

Nah, it starts and ends only with the QB.

Is Green Bay elite? Not sure at this point; but they are 7-1 and has pieces and depth in most places to compete and win weekly. I will take it.

PS. KC is a bit disappointing on the defensive side of the ball... for a team that seemingly has the talent to compete in the AFC for a shot in January, they have under performed thus far. Yeah, I know. Injuries. Part of the gauntlet of the NFL is dealing with attrition.

As Buckeye said Pettine went with a soft zone to keep KC's playmakers in front of the defenders. Not going to win a lot of style points that way but gave them the best chance for a W. KC did all their damage in the 2nd quarter when Reed came up with a lot of creative plays that seemed to throw the Packers pass rush off. I read somewhere that KC only managed like 107 yards in the 2nd half and they got the 1 TD after Tramon went to the face mask on 4th down that would have stopped that scoring drive.
Moore did play one good quarter and they punched the Packers right in the mouth. Playing away from home in a place like KC this game could have been a Chiefs blowout the way the came back in the 2nd quarter.
There is no single definition of an "elite" team. I would think being on the road in one of the loudest stadiums in the league and shutting the home team down after a huge rally and momentum swing may qualify, in part, of the definition "elite". Regardless, the character they showed with the challenges they faced will serve them well down the road. Certainly more so than playing cupcakes every week.

I don't think we are elite, but I also don't care if we win pretty or ugly. That Lombardi looks the same regardless if you win by 1 point as it does if you win by 20 points.

I remember when I HAD to stop watching ESPN's talking heads and I really have never fully went back...

Their programs were paid out something like this (not counting advertising)
50% = Tim Tebow
45% = Rest if the QBs
5% = The rest of the NFL

That was just F'n unbelievable!

When I quit watching it was more like 95% Tebow, 5% everything else.....every day of the week for a year. Have not gone back. That was the start of the death of ESPN.

Zero2Cool (24-Jan) : Raiders hired someone from the elderly home.
dfosterf (24-Jan) : I'm going with a combination of the two.
beast (24-Jan) : Either the Cowboys have no idea what they're doing, or they're targeting their former OC, currently the Eagles OC
Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Fake news. Cowboys say no
Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Mystery candidate in the Cowboys head coaching search believed to be Packers ST Coordinator Rich Bisaccia.

beast (23-Jan) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Aaron Glenn Planning To Take Jets HC Job
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Martha- C'est mon boulot! 😁
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you

dfosterf (22-Jan) : Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : I've been near death ill last several days, finally feel less dead and site issues.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : It is a big deal. This host is having issues. It's frustrating.
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : just kidding...it was down
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : and there's the dagger
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooo 8 point game with 4 minutes to go!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooooooohhhhhh he missed!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame vs the Luckeyes, bleh
