Anybody remember the 1997 Packers, how about we take it a season at a time? The 2010 Packers overcame a lot of adversity and we should take a lot of pride in that, even though some of the jackass posters from other teams claim we were gifted our 6th seed.

It's a good thing we were "gifted" 6th seed, if we would have been "gifted" higher and had some games at Lambeau we might have done some real a$$ kicking!!!

Dunno man. This is a dome team. Look how well they do in weather. Then again we played Philly and Chicago in weather, so I suppose it wouldn't have hurt us too much.
My take:
OL: Theyve also got Lang and Newhouse, the latter of whom I think will be the LT, mainly because he cant play the right side. They could use some depth though. Scott Wells is a good center, but hes undersized.

OLB: Theyve got Jones, Zombo and Walden, the later two of whom could make a significant step up in year two. Otherwise, they would all be very good backups. Jones might move inside, depending upon what happens with Barnett, but he needs to prove he can stay healthy.

WR: Keep in mind here that the TEs Finley and Quarless can line up as WRs and get it done. Jones dropped a few too many easy TDs, but has the talent to be elite, if he resigns with the team. Dude wants a chance to start. Driver is arguably on the downside.
I could see them drafting a WR who can return punts. PUNT RETURNER IS THE BIGGEST NEED ON THIS TEAM. They might also take a CB who can return punts.

DE: We lost Jolly and will lose Jenkins, but weve still got depth. Pickett and Neal can get it done. Neal spent his rookie year on IR and Pickett is getting a little old, but they will both be solid, imo. Weve also got CJ Wilson who will only get better in year two and beyond, Harold Green, Justin Harrell, who is oft-injured but this last injury was NOT related to his back. Jarius Wynn is an undersized pass rusher type who doesnt really fit the system.

CB: The Pack is loaded at Safety, but theoretically could use a CB or two. Woodson is getting older, but not slowing down, YET. Tramon Williams is all world, and Sam Shields will be all world in a year or two. Still, some depth here would be nice. Especially someone who could RETURN PUNTS.

RB: I think Starks will supplant Grant. If there is a stud available, I could see Uncle Ted pulling the trigger. Best Player Available.

In response to nerdman about RB's:

If Ryan Williams (RB-VaTech) is available in the 2nd round when we pick, I could see Ted drafting him. This guy could possibly beat out Grant AND Starks in TC. I watched him in every game at VT, and this guy is amazing.

I think that picking #32 Ted can forget about position and take the BPA. Especially since the deck is stacked against the rookies this year in preparing for the season. He might lump ALL of the positions of need together and see who is the best player available and then compare that player to any other player that might be the highest on Ted's list. At that point they make a decision on who to take.

I see this draft forcing teams to look at two things more than at any time in the past. First is need. If there is a glaring weakness in personnel at certain positions teams will be forced to fill them in the draft. There's no guarantee when or who in FA they can secure later.

Secondly, ready now players. This goes along with the above. For some teams they have to take the guy most ready to step in right now over the upside player with potential. Many teams have holes in certain positions forcing them to go with the kid most likely to step in right away.

This creates an advantage for Ted who really doesn't have a glaring hole that causes him to look there early and forced to focus on filling a void.

Whoever is drafted better come to training camp ready for competition. Nobody will be guaranteed a starting spot. We are in good shape over the entire roster.

:face1: and here I thought, barring injury, A Rod would be guaranteed the starting spot. (At least to open the season.) He better work his butt off and not just go through the motions in TC. ::wink:

Jones on the inside? I've never heard that idea. He doesn't seem like an ILB to me at all.

Not to long ago there was a large segment of the NFL players who did not want to come to GB (Woody is a classic example.)

There may be an increased desirability for FAs to come to GB now. Not just because they are the defending SB champs. But they have a proven track record of taking street FAs and cast offs and not only turning them into contributors but starters as well.

I'm in a hurry right now so I didn't get to read what everyone is saying but this caught my eye so I wanted to quick say something.

Domes are probably the ideal condition for us to play in, yes. That said, Rodgers qb rating in cold weather games going into the end of this last season was actually a point higher than for his career average. The single game average for these cold weather games basically looked identical to what he normally produces. So our passing game can function in the cold and our defense can play in any condition.

If my post makes no sense in the context of what everyone else has said or is redundant than my apologies.
