As we have discussed in the past, I would rather have a 3 and out than give up a 30 yard drive then pick the ball off. In theory, your defense stays fresher and your offense then should be able to wear down the opposition's defense. In that respect turnovers can be a bit overrated.
My perception from last year versus previous years, was that when we where relatively healthy, our 3rd down stop percentages was much higher than during the Dom Capers era.
I wish we were a bit more deep at ILB, but I really like what we are going to be able to put on field defensively.
