Speculation, opinion, rumers, and clairvoyant dreams aside, we will not know who GB's new HC is going to be until they make a decision and tell us. Some candidates have yet to interview as their teams are still involved in the playoffs. So calm down, present your case for your favorite, but don't say you know who GB's next HC will be, because I don't think the Packers even know that yet.

Is it just me, or is anyone uneasy hiring a guy after one interview? Not just him, but anybody. Do we have people who know him? Just asking?

If you want a preview of the style of offense LaFleur was running in Tennessee, give this thread a look-see:

Hey guys, here is an article about LaFleur's offense and philosophy as preseason started last year:

Pure speculation here, but I will bet a shiny new dime that McDaniels wanted greater say/veto power on personnel decisions.

I am also guessing that he isn’t as big of a fan of Pettine as many of us are.

I'll take that dime.... just cus it's shiney... not cus your wrong. 🤣

Though I think it could of been a straight up win in the interview process too, as everyone says LaFleur comes off as extremely smart and extremely willing to be flexable about his scheme to the players. Of course, I thought it was a better chance to be LaFleur ever since I figured out, if SF had an offensive coordinator it would be LaFleur... and we get our head coaches from the SF offensive coordinator spot (don't laugh, it was right 😝 )

Though I do think the same verbage as Mike McCarthy system could of been a factor, as well if they asked Pettine his opinion, Pettine and LaFleur have both worked with Kyle Shanahan.... and according to LT Joe Thomas, he heard Shanahan talk about LaFleur, so Pettine might have as well.

Also, I dislike the conspiracy theories, but this one needs to be pointed out. Less than 24 hours before the Packers/McDaniels interview, it comes out that McDaniels is extremely interested in the Browns job (and some story said it was his perfered spot) and that the Browns are interested in him too. But outside of that story, there has been no sign the Browns are interested in McDaniels... so either

1) The story is true.... (and with the Packers/Browns connections they may know it's true)
2) It's false and it's McDaniels side, trying to draw interest from the Browns for some reason (I want to speculate, but there is too many different possibility of why he might do it)

But the timing of that article seems extremely interesting.... and maybe extremely telling for someone on the inside who has more info.... and that could potentially turn the Packers off (which is assuming that McDaniels was ever truely on).

My point is this, that while it's fine to learn about the candidates for HC in GB, it is quite another to announce that this one or that one will be GB's new HC. Acting like the final authority (like Chicken Little crying the shy is falling) serves no purpose.

Supporting this man or that man for GB's new HC is quite normal. Even posting against a possible future GB HC is understandable. I just hope that GB will get a new HC that will work with the GM and take the Packers on to future Super Bowl Titles.

ya not sure how I feel about this ... guess well have to see. I do like the fact we will probably keep pettine - I thought he did well this year (at least compared to our last DC).

Be interesting to see what our offense will look like next year.

Mucky Tundra (30-Jan) : Now that's a thought, maybe they're looking at the college ranks? Maybe not head coaches but DC/assistant DCs with league experience?
beast (30-Jan) : College Coaches wouldn't want that publicly, as it would hurt recruiting and they might not get the job.
beast (30-Jan) : I thought they were supposed to publicly announce them, at least the NFL ones. Hafley was from college, so I believe different rules.
Mucky Tundra (30-Jan) : Who knows who they're interviewing? I mean, nobody knew about Hafley and then out of nowhere he was hired
