This should be the first time in a decade that Green Bay does not receive any additional picks. For the 2019 NFL Draft , it’s plain to see from the free agent transaction list that the Green Bay Packers will not receive any compensatory picks. The team lost only one qualifying free agent during the 2018 signing period — safety Morgan Burnett — but signed two in tight end Jimmy Graham and defensive back Tramon Williams. As a result of signing more of those players than they lost, the Packers will not receive any of the league’s 32 additional draft picks this spring.
This will be the first year since 2009 that the Packers do not get at least one compensatory pick. Here’s a look at the 18 total picks that they received in the past nine seasons:
Green Bay currently holds ten picks in the 2019 NFL Draft. They have their own selections, the 12th pick of each round, plus three others acquired in trades over the past year. The Packers traded for the Saints ’ first-round draft pick (exact position to be determined) during the first round of last year’s draft, flipped safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix for Washington’s fourth-round choice (4.16), and acquired Seattle’s 6th-round pick (6.21) for quarterback Brett Hundley .
