Unofficial, you can IR/wavie someone, which allows the 31 other teams to claim his contract, if no one does then they basically get released at season end.

Davis needs to go. He can’t stay healthy for more then one game.
It’s just wasted money to keep him.
Look at how long he was on IR, only to end up there again.
