LT i totally agree with you on the better the defense usually the better record. Defense wins championships look at the Steelers, Giants, Pats, Ravens just for an example. I have alot of homework to do today or i would look it up but i think it would be interesting to find out how much time we were trailing this year? The reason for that is sometimes trailing alot can be a misleading advantage to put up offense of stats.

situational stats

when behind 14 td and 10 ints 88.9 rating, 1132 yards

when tied 6 tds and 1 int, 94.1, 848 yards

when ahead 8 tds and 2 ints, 101.9, 2058 yards

Yup when trailing his stats are inflated..

In contrast

Brett in 07

When behind--7 tds and 6 ints, 89.4 and 1049 yards

Tied--4 tds 3 ints, 78.9, 873 yards

Ahead---17 tds and 6 ints, 107.2 2233 yards

I am not stating the obvious, see if someone else can see it

DH if you agree the better the D does, the better the record...

why is it you dont agree that the D had a bigger part in the losses last year?

Is LT trying to portray Favre as a frontrunner? 😃

LT i never said the defense wasn't a bigger part of the losses, the point i was always trying to make is that Rodgers isn't completely fault free. I was tired of everyone saying that the loss wasn't any of Rodgers fault. I never once blamed him for the loss all by himself.

I guess as what i was thinking of for stats on being behind and stuff was how if you are constantly getting into shootouts it could skew the stats to make the offense seem better than it was. I will go on record right now saying we will be an average offense next year. We could be high ranked but we play the likes of the Steelers and Ravens so that should knock our stats down.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

Yeah if that division is anything like it was last year look for Rodgers to get a few more interceptions!

How many times have you personally called him Mr6-10?.. if you dont put the entire blame on him why use that nick name????

Your whole thing is to pin the blame on him..

Refuse to acknowledge that a kicker missed 2 fgs that would have had them win..Your argument is Rodgers didnt get them closer so it was an easier kick

Dude you flip flop more than Brett did/does

And as far as shot out and stats are inflated cuz of playing form behind..

Isnt Brett #1 or#2 in come from behind wins that your always harping on?

I never once heard you say Bretts stats are inflated cuz of all the come from behind games he had

We didn't make the playoffs but we beat out the Lions in the division at least.

"doddpower" wrote:

Not sure where this came from, but not making the playoffs isn't really a Rodgers problem at least right now. His play last year was playoff caliber for the most part. The defense now is a different story.

I think the info rock gave is pretty straightforward. I'll also point out he threw a terrible throw against Atlanta between 4 and 5 minutes left.

He's impressive for a first year starter, but he also has a lot to improve on.

"porky88" wrote:

I agree, he definitely has aspects that need to improve. Who doesn't though? In any walk of life? Are there people out there that are just totally perfect and need no improvement whatsoever??

I will admit that it is hard for me NOT to view the football world through my Green and Gold glasses, but I would take Rodger's over most the quarterbacks in the NFL right now. Not necessarily all of them, but most. He appears to be a great teammate, a hard worker, big arm, not dramaful, and appears to be far away from reaching his full potential. Perhaps he will never be able to lead a team to a super bowl by himself. Most quarterbacks can't and haven't been able to. However, I am fairly confident that if you give Rodger's an above average defense and offensive line, he will have every chance to win a championship. That's all he needs other then more experience, just a slightly above average defense and offensive line and I think he can carry the team from there to a Super Bowl. Now, if we don't get those things fixed, we're in for more trouble and high draft picks =(

Well none of us as far as I know are getting paid big money to play football. He needs to improve especially considering his contract.

Rodgers is certainly a top 15 QB right now so yeah that would be something I agree with.

He's the best in the division for sure. It's not even close, but overall he's got along ways to go before he's on the level of guys like Ben and Tom Brady. Statements like that are what gives people like DH merit when he says Rodgers is overrated.

I like Matt Ryan as the best young and up and coming QB in the game today. After him, Phillip Rivers is due for a big run once Norv Turner checks out and then I like Rodgers slightly more than Jay Cutler now due to Cutler's clear immaturity issues. That's long-term, but in the big picture, Rodgers is still a work in progress as are the other three I named.

Well LT seeing your putting words into my mouth what else did i say? I never once called him mr 6-10; but i would say his record is 6-10 and i don't see how that was a lie. Btw its funny your trying to say i said this about Brett and that about Brett but i don't think i brought his name up once in this thread. But hey it's nice having you doing my work in this discussion thanks lol. You bring up good points to defend Brett.

To be fair here, I only recall Packwillbeback calling Rodgers Mr. 6-10 in the Should Brett have?? thread (which LT participated in), not dhazer, though that's not to say he didn't say it either at some other point in time.

Is this the thread where we nitpick Favre's career, while others blame Aaron Rodgers for not winning more games, even though he had a borderline Pro-Bowl season?

:lurk:
