Green Bay should have beaten the Vikings, but there’s plenty of good to take away from the bizarre 29-29 game at Lambeau. The Green Bay Packers  took the Minnesota Vikings’  best punch and stayed upright. Kirk Cousins  played his best game as a pro in a big spot. It took an act of God for Adam Thielen  to catch what turned out to be the game-tying touchdown, plus an act of ineptitude to set it up. Green Bay withstood the best that the NFC’s best had to offer without playing their own best.

There was the wonky officiating (a generous description). A Mason Crosby  missed field goal could have won it in regulation. The heinous Clay Matthews  call quite literally cost the Packers the game, negating an outstanding over-the-shoulder interception by rookie Jaire Alexander .

Good read.
Tough thing to do, but we as fans just need to move on.
Dwelling on the bullshit, that was yesterday is not going to change anything.
What bothers me the most is watching a game, I grew up loving and playing being morphed into something that is hard for me to enjoy.

I have a hard time blaming the refs.
I don't think they know what they are supposed to call.

On to Washington to start another winning streak.

I think this assumes the Vikings are elite and since we tied them we're equals... but I disagree with that premise... first Vikings were elite (last year), that doesn't always translate over from season to season. Second, the Packers lucked out with a ST touchdown and three missed Vikings FGs (one Crosby missed field goal). So that's about 13 points that went the Packers way that didn't necessary have to.

I think the Packers proved they belong battling at the top of the NFC North race... but the NFC North still has to prove they're an elite division (they should be, but should be and are, don't always match up).

Vikings were lucky they flagged Davante Adams on his touchdown. Even Cousins said the Clay Matthews call was "generous".

Bottom line for me is the Vikings came away going 'whew' with a tie and the Packers went away with knowing they let one slip away.

I'm curious how many games in league history have ended in a 29-29 tie and when the last time was that four field goals were missed in a single game.

Both teams could have won this game and not just for the missed field goals. I'm sure there were plenty of plays that were borderline and any one of them could have put either team over the top.

The Kendricks call was every bit as bogus as the Matthews call but given the circumstances the effects were hardly similar. The Kendricks call did not result in a change of possession so you can argue that the results could have still been the same (GB FG). With the Matthews call it should have resulted in a change of possession and pretty much game over

Kendricks torqued himself to drill Rodgers into the ground, there's a good replay that shows the angle where you can see Kendricks do exactly that. And that's perfectly fine by me, not at all flag worthy.
Matthews did not torque himself to drill Cousins into the ground. Clay should have just pushed him. Easy for me to say in hindsight! haha.

How can they call Davante Adams for pass interference and do nothing about the blatant arm holding on Jimmy Graham? It's luck in favor of the Vikings.

My only hope is once this is all reviewed that the officials don't give the Packers the same bitch calls. I want my team to win on the field or lose on the field, not win (or tie) because of some inconsistent asshole NFL rules being crappily interpretated by officials.

Just saw on NFL Network, Pellisari is reporting The NFL is going to use Clay's play and others , sending them to every team, as how NOT to tackle the QB
Calling it the "scoop and pull" method .
Meaning Clay deliberately grabbed Cousins leg with his left hand and picked him up and drove him into the ground .

This is "fail mary" all over again.
The NFL will never admit the rules are to vague, and they will back the refs no matter how bad it makes them look .

True. They are making it hard to care about the NFL anymore. When your team gets screwed on SEVERAL calls during a game ( the Adams PI, the One where Graham got grabbed trying to make the catch, the Matthews call )
It gets to where you can’t help but wonder if it IS all a fix.
Or if the NFL has no refs that are really professionals.
They should just put red jerseys on the QBs and just say you can’t touch them.
