Perfect points WPR.
What has made him so great is his ability to move around, and not just chuck the ball up for grabs where it ends up intercepted.

Yeah, he's one of the greatest QBs of all time. A guy whose numbers are off the charts when he scrambles. So why don't we tell him not to do the very thing that has made him so successful. Tell him to stay anchored in the pocket and get blasted by the defense. 🙄

Keep in mind the Packers OL has been highly rated in large part because Aaron can avoid the pressure and get outside and find the open receiver.

I’d say out if the pocket, he is the best in the NFL at making plays.

Aaron Rodgers a master when throwing outside the pocket

Aaron Rodgers has played great football over the last two months. But what he's done in the playoffs is something no other quarterback has been able to do.

NFL research crunched the numbers and they have calculated Rodgers has more passing yards outside the pocket than the rest of the NFL combined. Rodgers has thrown for 223 yards outside the pocket while the rest of the NFL has thrown for 174 yards.

It's very rare to see a quarterback play better while throwing on the run or outside the pocket. But Rodgers thrives when he's on the run which makes him dangerous. And with the Packers playing at the Georgia Dome on Sunday vs. the Atlanta Falcons in the NFC Championship, Rodgers is expected to do even more damage outside the pocket against the Falcons defense.

The 2016 playoffs isn't his whole career. It's only a small sample size. It is an indicator of what he has done throughout his whole career.

Everyone who says great things about Aaron Rodgers says the same thing. Part of what makes Aaron Rodgers so great is his ability to extend plays with his pocket sense and ability to run. I'm not sure how you can argue that staying in the pocket and abandoning part of what makes him great will make him better.

Maybe slightly after another injury or two, or more likely another and more innovative offensive coach, but he'll likely live and die by what he knows.
