Not with Packer players. Vic nailed it this past week. Pack fans are some of the most sentimental in the league.

If you followed the Packers when Jermicahel Finley played, you'd know the answer is yes. Defenses had to scheme around the threat if Finley. It opened things up for WR. That's what Graham will do for us.

But, for God’s sake realize you are not effing Dorothy…repeating “Jimmy is great” and clicking your red ruby slippers just wont make it effing happen.

FACTUAL EVIDENCE:

Graham played 16 games in ’16 and ’17 and Seattle was poor in 3rd down conversions, to wit:

In ‘17, the Hawks were 20th in 3rd down efficiency [37.26%]. For reference GB w/ Hundley playing in 11 games was 13th [39.34].

In ’16 Hawks were 15th at 39.74% [GB 3rd at 46.12%, TEs were Rodgers 604 snaps; Cook 329; Perillo 102].

Graham’s value is truly highlighted in 2015. Jimmy was injured in Game 10 v. Pittsburg in the 4th Q at 13:41 [Hawks scored 19 after he went out 😂] and missed the last 5 games.
The first 10.75 games w/ Graham Seattle 3rd proficiency was: 54-142 or 38%
The last 5.25 games w/ Graham OUT Seattle 3rd proficiency was: 44-71 or 62%

3 years with Jimmy Boy in, 37%, 38%, 39%....Jimmy out 62%. Though the 62% sample size is small, its results are statistically significant because of the huge deviation from a base line that is large and super consistent.

IT IS PROVEN: Jimmy kills a team’s 3rd down efficiency!

PS: Graham is not Finley! Unless a DC gives extra attention to a TE, he wont upon up anything for anyone. Let the facts lead your thinking!

Finley only played a full 16-game season twice in his career, has a mouth that got him in trouble all the time, and finished his career with 20 Touchdowns, something Graham scored half of in one year with a team that didn't use him properly at age 30.

But obviously when he comes to our team he's a part of our team so we have a different philosophy than they had with the Saints. So the things he was expected to do with the Saints are going to be different when he comes here.

Obviously we are a running team, so he is going to have to block and do all those things. I don't feel as harsh as I did at the time because he's my teammate now but at the time he was on the opposite team and we battled with him a couple of times and I didn't really like that too much.

You're using third down efficiencies from an offensive coordinator who PASSED the ball on the goalline in the Super Bowl with less than half minute to play when he had MARSHAWN LYNCH getting over 4 yards carry. Maybe if he had that legitimate red zone threat Jimmy Graham, passing would have won the game. ;-)

Yes, the Saints and, BTW, several teams were interested in signing Graham.

GB's GM lost a ton of street cred with this Graham move and the confidence is LOW on the street for GB's prospects. This is the reason GB couldn't get Robinson or any of the 20+ CBs we sought to overpay.

If there were 20+ surely you have some names. Also if the Packers were overpaying why did the Bears match it?

I think Graham got overpaid by 2-3 million a year but so did alot of players, when you sign players on day 1 of free agency they're almost always overpaid. Considering we had no one at TE and the draft doesn't have alot of immediate starter possibilities I'm fine with the move.

2 weeks ago today, Nelson was cut, 2 days later, the low ball offer was reported...why on God's green earth is this still getting national attention?

Answer: What is on the minds of scouts, execs and/or agents often takes time to leak out. Any reporter that gets a bit of inside info or insight about a deal, even if several weeks old, will prompt a call to Jordy for his comments and the story will run.

If the professional "street" is not murmuring about a player deal, it leaves the news cycle to die within 48 hrs.

EDIT: Just saw the GB GM is now explaining his thinking on the Fuller deal...WHY is he doing this? Answer: he hear's the street rumbling that he's a somewhere between overmatched, confused or a complete dumbass. His numerous statements that he's his own man show a guy with a clear esteem issue so he feels he needs to justify what he's doing, because in his own mind he's questioning himself. A GM needs quiet confidence and this guy better get a grip or we'll be seeing the quickest GM change in history.
