I like Jackson. He has run ability, and can catch the ball better than Grant, IMO. The biggest thing I have seen missing for the Packers is the RB passing, the screens. Grant had 312 rushes and 18 catches. I think it was to simple for defenses to figure out. Grant in, probably not a pass so go after Rodgers.

Agreed. One thing I miss about having Ahman Green was after he left, we stopped screening.

I love screens. I think surprisingly Wynn might be our best screen guy. Henderson was also good at screens. Plus, he'd jump over somebody which was an extra bonus.

If Jackson gets more touches, I want to see him get 2+ screens a game. The worst that I've seen happen is he only ends up picking up 4-5 yards.

Definitely the most underused player on our O last year.

Brandon Jackson to me showed more heart than Ryan Grant did last year. Granted (no pun intended), I think Grant has more flash and more natural ability. But heart goes a long way in real life and in sports.

The other thing about screens - it gives the opponent's D one more thing to worry about.

That makes you think about some WR screens aswell though. We have some of the greatest run blocking receivers in the game (Look at them getting up to safety/corners and sometimes even LBs. Jordy against our Bears victory for instance), yet, we don't seem to use them all. Driver is a though guy, stack him with on one side together with Jones and Nelson and have Jennings and Martin on the other side. That could get some yardage if the O-lineman can pull fast enough.

On topic though, I'm still staying with my previous post. We really need some sort of a multiple back system. We have 3/4 capable backs. None of them are brilliant, none of them suck. Grant should get the most carries but both Wynn and Jackson deserve some to. Especially if you saw Jackson playing last year. Maybe even throw Lumpkin in there from time to time.

Don't forget about Lumpkin! Never forget the Lumpkin!
William Henderson didn't have to run people over. His preferred method was levitation.

In my dream last need we took a DT from Jacksonville and released Lumpkin. I've never had a dream that specific... weird and creepy.

On topic: I agree fully about becoming too predictable last season. I think we also had a problem with one back being hurt every game. We couldn't create a rhythm with our RBs it seemed.

I don't thing Grant is as bad of a receiver as everybody says. He needs to work on his catching but imo he seems much better at being able to pick up yards after he catches it.

I was wondering why nobody was mentioning Lumpkin earlier. I am excited to see him play next year. Hopefully he can stay healthy.
