Shanahan? Ugh... 8-8 and 7-9 the past two seasons, and that is after YEARS of establishing himself in Denver. They're a team about to implode. I don't understand that one.

Shanahan fvcked Denver worse than Sherman did Green Bay. Delapitated defense, cap hell; and we have posters that want him to take over?????? But hey, they would have won their division at 9-7 if they would have beaten San Diego.

Cowher publically said he would never coach Favre! How would that go over in Wisconsin?

I really am at loss with some of my co-posters in this forum. Do we have no more patience as fans? All you cry-babies out there should go out drinking with 49er and Cowboy fans. Their droughts are a longer than ours.

Dakota - On the flip side, one more losing season and Ted Thompson supporters are going to sound like they have "battered wife syndrome," you know where the person makes apologies for the person abusing them?

I started following the Packers in 1976. Besides 1982 and 1989, all I knew were losing years. I remember all the excuses. One year it would be injuries, the next year it will be hard schedule, the next year it would be unexpected changes.

I don't want to go back to that. I want to go back to WINNING.

Yeah Zombie, I want that too, but isn't there some kind of reasonability involved with all this? Here's a thought: maybe the board of directors told Ted not to spend money on high priced free agents, because of the cap hell it creates. I sure as hell would rather use the Patriots and Steelers as templates on how to build a franchise versus the fricken Redskins.

A free agent signing is great but not at the cost of your own players or locker room morale.

Like I've said, I'm OK with not signing any blockbusters. Fine, they cost too much. No big deal. NOW, let's focus on re-signing our guys. If we end up losing out on re-signing our own guys, then i'll be pissed.

I think that most everyone here would agree that they want us to be like the Steelers. They make the playoffs more often than not, and they've won more [strike]championships[/strike] Super Bowls than any other franchise.

Look at what defines the Steelers' FO. Continuity of management, combined with a penchant for watching their own stars walk. And sticking to the sidelines during Free Agency periods. This makes for boring offseasons, but they've run their show like this for a looooong time. And I'm sure that fans over there get frustrated.

I believe that the board is aiming for something similar to their success, and this is the method they will abide by. Build through the draft. Only sign FA's if they're a relative bargain. Pay your QB once you've found him. If a player wants a blockbuster deal, let him walk, no matter what position he plays.

Problem is we arn't the steelers atm ...

We have some gapping holes - Front 7 D, Oline specifically.

If we can get this fixed in the draft then cool

If that's true, why did Sherman get fired? I mean, if Sherman was just a puppet, why can him? Heck, if the board of directors handles the football operations, why did Bob Harlan lie to us when he said they don't have any say in the football decisions?
