Ted hasn't looked right physically for quite some time now. Kind of like he's not mentally all together. I'm not saying it to be mean. He just has a "deer in the headlights" look.
I don't think he's well.

I'm not saying I am/not a fan of his, but Eliot is the highest ranking in the personnel department currently, so if it's an internal hire, I don't understand why Eliot would be leap-frogged.

Gotta like the fact that for now Ted is staying to run the scouting dept.

Don't really matter to me who , or where he comes from, just hope he can be as good as Ted.

Whoever it is, Ted has left them in a real good situation.
Due to injuries , the new GM is going to be drafting 14th, and will probably have 11 picks to work with .

Pretty sure, unlike when Ron Wolf left, there is an exit plan in place.

This becomes an important draft, with the talent from top to bottom on the current roster, it's very likely this will be the only year The Packers will be drafting this high.

Hope they name the new GM asap!
I was addicted to The Hokey Pokey, but I turned myself around!

I actually think Ted Thompson could be highly valuable to an organization, just not as the General Manager. The guy is a scout through and through. Let him grind away in a role focused on unknown players, UDFA, over-achievers, and WRs. Trust his recommendations for those moments, but have someone else make all the other decisions and manage the organization.

There are a lot of great technicians out there that have no business being a manager. The positions require different skill sets. Ted is a scout, and in some ways, a good one. Just not for defense.

I understand some are happy Ted Thompson is no longer the Packers GM. Just remember, the grass is not always greener on the other side. Thompson did a lot of good for this team. He took over a poor Sherman-built roster and built a Super Bowl winner out of it while keeping the tea in the playoffs 8 straight seasons. That's a FRANCHISE record and any time you have a record with a franchise like the Green Bay Packers, that's something special. He had the testicular fortitude to draft Aaron Rodgers, when the Packers already had NFL Legend, Brett Favre. You can discredit this by saying Rodgers "fell to Ted's lap", that's fine, but guess what, two dozen or so other teams could have taken him and they didn't have a Brett Favre holding down QB. Thompson also brought in players like Charles Woodson, Ryan Pickett and plethora of others. Yeah, he had his shit can ass misses (e.g. Justin Harrell) and you will never find a GM who hasn't had misses.

If you're also crossing your fingers that McCarthy is going to be canned next, he isn't. Mark Murphy said the Packers had a succession plan and since then he was asked what it was and responded that they didn't necessarily have one. The two signings of Davante Adams and Corey Linsley indicate this part of the plan. Not to mention why let the head coach fire the defensive coordinator and some assistants if he was out the door too? The next GM will probably give McCarthy his final contract year to prove he should stay.

If it DOES turn out to be the case, I will not have any trust in the drafts as long as he is in a position to influence the draft.

McGinn has told the real story and it's damning on everyone involved including Packers media.

Ted is SICK and has been for some time. It was kept hush hush while Ted and the team suffered in silence. I have never been more upset or ashamed of this team and it's fans.

Many of you just buried your heads. TED WAS SICK. I told you that for a long time but it was easier to talk about how I wasn't a fan or just negative.

This move was a mission of mercy. Team paid for years with a mind affected GM as the CEO blathered on about him staying as long as he wanted. Murphy should be run out on a rail. Pathetic absentee landlord puppet.

This whole thing has been shameful. Glad the dirty little secret is out and this org can move on.

I hope Ted's health isn't an issue. I wouldn't wish that upon anyone. It will be interesting to see the changes that come about.

The story is at profootballtalk.com.

Meanwhile, as a man is sick we have guys praising the org for keeping him and letting him run scouting? He won't be in charge of anything. His brain is sick. He's mentally impaired but being a fan blinded to the truth because what mattered was status quo and bragging about playoff appearances. Never mind the guy getting credited and begged for to stay and defended was suffering and hurting the org. I told you the keys needed to be taken away...had to be done...and FINALLY it has happened.

Further our media knew he was sick and stayed quiet. That is beyond pathetic. Spineless gutless people who protected the hive while the lemmings cheered. Every single media member should be personally ashamed and publicly disgraced.

The man was and is sick. F football. The man needed help but he was weekend at Bernie's left in place while everyone buried their heads. So so ashamed of this whole thing and last several years.

Mucky Tundra (2h) : @AaronNagler · 2m Both Jordan Love and Malik Willis were Limited participants at Packers practice today.
Zero2Cool (4h) : Johnson didn't make it until 2020. Ring 2023. 🤷 Personally, he should have been in years prior to Hall.
Zero2Cool (4h) : HUMP DAY
beast (5h) : Guys that have a good shot at making the NFL Hall of Fame usually get into their teams pretty fast
beast (5h) : Yeah, but is Kampman and the others in the NFL Hall of Fame?
Zero2Cool (5h) : Johnson was Hall of Fame, 2020. Should haev been in Ring a year later, not three years.

Zero2Cool (5h) : I guess I see players in Packers Hall come way later
beast (5h) : Yeah, usually teams hall of fames are a much lower bar than the NFL
Zero2Cool (5h) : is it uncommon for Hall before Ring?
Zero2Cool (5h) : S Xavier McKinney named first-team All-Pro by NFLPA
beast (7h) : I missed it, sorry, but he got into the NFL Hall of Fame years before that
Zero2Cool (7h) : Jones took his sweet ole time!
Zero2Cool (7h) : Yeah, he's in the ring of honor, just saw video and his name is up there
Zero2Cool (7h) : Didn't they have a thing in 2023 for Jimmy's ring of honor? I swear I saw it
beast (7h) : Though if they're legitimately trying to re-sign MM, then it makes sense.
beast (7h) : Jerry Jones still hasn't put Jimmy Johnson in the Ring of Honor, but he's in the NFL's Hall of Fame, Jones is petty
Mucky Tundra (19h) : Unless the Cowboys are planning an extension, seems kinda petty
beast (21h) : Cowboys denied Bears request
Mucky Tundra (6-Jan) : From what I'm reading, MM is under contract through the 14th of January; after that he's free game
Zero2Cool (6-Jan) : McCarthy let go or not extended??
Mucky Tundra (6-Jan) : Chicago Bears have asked the Dallas Cowboys permission to interview Mike McCarthy for head coaching vacancy
Zero2Cool (6-Jan) : The winners page that is

Mucky Tundra (6-Jan) : That might be it for the Vikings
Mucky Tundra (6-Jan) : Oh so the refs do know what intentional grounding is
Mucky Tundra (6-Jan) : what the hell was that Goff?! Not much pressure and he just air mails it to Harrison
Mucky Tundra (6-Jan) : They really need to to get rid of the auto first down for illegal contact
Martha Careful (6-Jan) : watching the Vikings and Lions it's understandable why they swept the Packers. So much better product
Mucky Tundra (6-Jan) : Even when GB got pressure he was throwing darts; vs no pressure on that last pass he just air mails an open guy
Zero2Cool (6-Jan) : didn't have guys in his face ... pressure makes difference
Mucky Tundra (6-Jan) : Where was this Darnold vs GB?
Mucky Tundra (6-Jan) : BALL DON'T LIE
Mucky Tundra (6-Jan) : how was that not a safety? Goff throws it at an offensive lineman
Mucky Tundra (6-Jan) : Zero, I thought that was a given! ;)
Mucky Tundra (6-Jan) : Zero I looked through earlier and noticed the same thing. Bonkers year. I just wonder if beast put any money on games
Zero2Cool (6-Jan) : I'm hoping for BLOODBATH. Pummel one another.
