What the hell? The media protected his privacy, if they even knew about it, and if it's even true. Reporting it has nothing to do with getting him help that you say he needs and isn't receiving (??). If he released a statement about his health, then they could report on it.

Dude, I don't think anyone who follows the Packers at all closely has been blinded to the possibility that Ted Thompson's faculties might be declining. He's been looking sickly for the past couple of years at least, and there have been articles  commenting on his worsening appearance  for many months now. Hell, there was plenty of concern raised during the 2017 draft, when during his end-of-first-round press conference, Thompson, who had yet to draft a single player, rambled aimlessly in response to questions and wasn't even sure if Green Bay held the first picks in the second and third rounds. He looked practically punch drunk at times and had the verbal patterns of a man who might be in the early stages of dementia.

http://www.packers.com/media-center/videos/Thompson-taking-calls-for-pick-No-33/ .

I've often wondered over the past few years if he might have cancer. He had gotten skinny for a while, nearly to the point of emaciation, but lately his face has gotten puffy and flaccid, like he might be on prednisone. (Or it could just be aging; who knows?) He's always been shy and quiet, but nowadays he mumbles like someone who's taken one too many fists to the noggin. Obviously, this is pure speculation on my part; I know nothing about the man's medical history.

How do you know "every single media member" knew he was sick?

You've railed on Ted Thompson for years - fine, I haven't liked his defensive eye, speaking as a fan, I'm fine with a new man in charge...but less than 24 hours after supposed news broke that he's sick, suddenly you're taking the "high road" and pointing the finger at everyone else for not knowing he was sick?!? If you were privy to this information, which still isn't confirmed, shouldn't you feel ashamed for ripping him a new ass hole all these years? You claim to have known this secret for years - OK, so what is he sick with? CTE? Cancer? Please enlighten.

I had a twitter convo with Bill Huber of Packer Report about why nobody spoke to Ted's health. I posted that convo on this site.

Bill said "nobody (in the org) would talk about it"...he was aware. EVERYONE was aware, but it was NOT reported on. Don't give me HIPAA or privacy concerns. You are free to write about someone being in mental decline while not posting a chart to prove it. That is protected not writing about a guy clearly suffering and questioning whether he should be running a football team.

Where was the forum on this issue? Buried it's head. I tried speaking to it but, of course, that's negative and doesn't need to be discussed. That guy was sick and hurting this org by being a part of it. Go look it up...I was screaming about taking his keys away. It had to be done for the good of the org, I said. What do you know? That is EXACTLY why Ted was removed yesterday. Wow...I'm not surprised while many out there think this is some bombshell. A mission of mercy as I called it last night on Twitter to an old colleague of mine. This was before anyone had to report to me why it happened. I'm ahead of the curve and get hammered before and after?

Think about this...TED WAS MENTALLY IMPAIRED and many were begging for him to never leave crediting him with things he clearly wasn't doing. You can go back to last offseason for proof. I said then Ted wasn't doing the things he was being credited for. The hive mind on Ted was really something to behold here and elsewhere. Is the light finally on that this HAD TO HAPPEN...is not a bad thing and is long overdue?

"Senior adviser" makes him sound like some sort of outside consultant as opposed to a Packers employee. (We've seen Ron Wolf do something similar  with various other teams over the years.) Makes me wonder if Thompson will still be slotted within the existing command structure. If so, will he have any direct reports (I'm guessing no), and does he still report directly to Mark Murphy (I'm guessing yes)?

However, you are the only benevolent one. Only you possessed such amazing clairvoyance. You alone knew Ted is dying of cancer or whatever is going on with him and were the ONLY one who cared about what's best for Ted, right?

Our "soft" no accountability organization just can't help itself. Ted is going to do...NOTHING...just as he should. NOBODY is going to rely on a mentally impaired individual to run their business. I guess it was nice they framed it this way for Ted's sake but that isn't what happened here at all, but I know I don't know better as you'll surely tell me.

The story is at profootballtalk.com.

Meanwhile, as a man is sick we have guys praising the org for keeping him and letting him run scouting? He won't be in charge of anything. His brain is sick. He's mentally impaired but being a fan blinded to the truth because what mattered was status quo and bragging about playoff appearances. Never mind the guy getting credited and begged for to stay and defended was suffering and hurting the org. I told you the keys needed to be taken away...had to be done...and FINALLY it has happened.

Further our media knew he was sick and stayed quiet. That is beyond pathetic. Spineless gutless people who protected the hive while the lemmings cheered. Every single media member should be personally ashamed and publicly disgraced.

The man was and is sick. F football. The man needed help but he was weekend at Bernie's left in place while everyone buried their heads. So so ashamed of this whole thing and last several years.

A lot of what you're saying is unfounded and hyperbolic at best. Who was begging him to stay? No one. Nearly everyone wanted MORE out of the GM position whether it was from Ted or a new GM. My gosh, ease up on the venom and relax a little bit. You wanted Ted Thompson removed from GM, it's been done. Move on!! Let it go!!

Elliot Wolf for GM.

Brian Flores for DC.

The best Pass Rusher available in the 14th draft slot for the Packers.

IMO, these choices offer experience along with younger thinking. In addition, a young strong pass rusher is just what the Packer's Defense needs the most.

[cheers]
