Any thoughts on Jim Leonard? The Badger defense was the best coached defense I have seen in a while. Rationale:
- He has Pro experience on the field. He would command the respect from our young players.
- He was a tough-nosed, smart player, neither of which our DB's seems to be.
- There were very very few blown assignments vs. what we have seen for the last 6 years, especially at crunch time
- He is creative in his blitz scheme design
- His defenses have players who know how to set an edge..

And on Leonard, NO!!!! And I don't know a thing about his game.
The guy has no NFL coaching experience, which means he only gets an NFL DC gig if he's considered a young-gun genius wunderkind.
The problem with the wunderkinds is that in their first year the D has some growing pains, in the 2nd year they do great. But then he becomes a HC and ya gotta start all over again. 2 yeas ago Bears hired Adam Gase as OC; the offense looked good and after 1 year he left for a HC gig.
I want a guy who's days of HCing have past, like a Capers, a Fangio, a Steve Spagnuolo. GB almost hired Mike Nolan 9 years ago; I'll take him too.
